Well said, City64.
You took the words right out of my mouth, but expressed these sentiments in a far better and more direct way than I ever could.
Tomorrow night, there will be so many different scores to settle but, when we do, we can't expect the media to give us any credit whatsoever, for playing The Scum off the park. All we can do is be true to ourselves and remind them just how much better than them, in so many ways, we really are.

In all fairness the journalists have been trained to their opinions for many years and now respond like Pavlov's dog - any journalists who have ever reported without a pro-scum slant have been seen by the rags as being anti their agenda and ergo banned from press conferences at the swamp. Ergo, for the sake of reporting from both camps they've had to show preference to one camp.
That's the rags influencing the reporting of the game much in the same way that they pressure the match officials by criticising them heavily and sarcastically if they don't get the help they want from an official (using their 'trained' journalists to widen the audience).
This situation should have been stamped on by the FA many years ago but they've allowed it to persist and it's now a cancer eating at the game.
For starters I think that we should ban journalists that report unfairly against us - I know that it would be adverse to many of our values as a club but there needs to be a stop put on the piss-cans unethical behaviours and that stop should be made sooner rather than later for the sake of the game.

How times change ?
Once this was our biggest match off the season ?,now to me it is just another game.I would happily play our second string tomorrow lose 2-0 and win the Cup Semi and go on to lift the FA Cup.
i am Being serious, why risk our best players having the shit kicked out off them. Its a dead rubber means fuck all to us.These cunts are not our biggest game any more,no more small Club mentality.
Would get right under their skin playing the reserves, might appear disrespectful, but all i care about is the FA Cup.

Shocking attitude.
You are on drugs if you think any manager of MCFC would play anyone that wasnt a first team player against that Munchen outfit.
Its the GAME of the season and is watched by fuckign millions across the globe.

It was the biggest game of the season when our 1 chance of having something to brag about was beating the rags but times have changed - it's still a big game due to local rivalry but our biggest scheduled game is v Chelsea next week - by a very obvious county mile.

so you're OK with an 18 point gap are you?
fortunately I doubt Mancini is
and presumably a county mile is shorter than a country mile?

It must be along the same route that you can bump into someone with torrets syndrome.

You are aware we haven't secured third place yet, never mind second?

Mancini has figured it out and has said as much on several occasions. That's probably why he takes the piss out of them daily.
Balo figured it out and refused to answer questions from one English reporter in Italy.
Tevez has figured it out and that's why he speaks perfectly good English but chooses not to.
Most of all though the club know themselves. When I went on the stadium tour recently the guy doing the tour mentioned that the club were aware of the media's attitude towards City. That's why they have everything positive that City are doing for the community along the walls of the press room. The guy said that the press get treated like kings but for some reason still hate City.

I keep reading the topic title as "Reo Speedwagon in overdrive" - got the same three lines of a damn song in my head as a result. "heard it from a friend who, heard it from a friend who, heard it from another you've been messing around." probably sums up the UK press pretty well actually...

Who said anything about the 'agenda' being the reason we are all those points behind?

I've noticed that Sky have changed the fixture timings from 1330 to 1405 hrs for this weeks and next weeks games. That'll mean that the Stoke v Rag game will be finishing a minute or so before our FA Cup semi-final.
Back to 1330 hrs the week after. Coincidence or are Sky trying to outdo the FA?
