Be careful what you wish for/celebrate!

It sure as hell won't make them stronger and it should be an invite to challenging teams, not just City, to properly get their act together to take them on. Personally I don't rate Gollum very highly although his record against us wasn't bad was it.Equally though Everton's record against the other top clubs wasn't all that great. He seems to have a fighting approach to games which for me gets you only so far.

We need a big pre season getting some top players in and a fast start next season and it would be nice if they are a bit shaky.Only time will tell

Spot on, a good summers business could set us up for a decade of dominance, an important summer just got a hell of a lot more important.

Indeed. Could turn out a bit like celebrating a penalty only to miss it.

Only time will tell whether Moyes will be a success for them, but I feel it's a somewhat sensible appointment. Imagine somebody as egomaniacal as Mourinho there with the old fart still hanging around trying to run the show - explosive.

Managers will no longer shit themselves (as much) when playing the rags. No one owes any favors to gollum and I think a few players and managers are ready to finally be able to put one over manure. It's like there has been a championship boxer for 20 years that no one can beat. Then all of a sudden he breaks his arm and loses an eye, but still wants to fight. Everyone who has been on the end of his beatings for the past 20 years are now lining up to knock him down. Or so I hope.

Also, the pressure on gollum will be immense. He's used to just having to finish above 10th and act like they can qualify for Europe for a few weeks. Robbie Savage has already come out and said that he needs to win a trophy in the 1st season. Hopefully just like players and managers, a few journalists will come out of the shadows and finally be able to write what they wanted about the rags. Unfortunately, I can see the media acting as a prop for gollum by constantly giving him slack that the rags are in a "transition period" and that the club has traditions of sticking with managers (bollox when they're not successful).

But we'll see if the players will continually turn to baconface in the executive office when results go bad, instead of respecting gollum. Very tricky situation for them to get right. Whatever happens, they are now significantly weaker than before.

6 year deal! I think he will struggle in the first season or two, he won't get as much out of that team as (I refuse even to type his name) did.
Good opportunity for us to get our act together and win it back next season.

Head on the block here from me. That will not be the only change of Manager we see in Manchester. Just a gut feeling it is win the cup bye bye Bobby.

Pre-season preparation needs to be honed to winning the Community Shield (if we get there) so that we tear into them and heap pressure on gollum from the start.

Why do you have to fuel negative speculation, especially when it's quite ridiculous. There is no indication that Mancini is going anywhere, FA Cup win or not. FFS the rags just changed managers, why immediately start talking about changing ours!?

i'm not convinced this will weaken them as much as we'd all like to believe. as far as tactics go, whiskeynose was not especially astute or creative. gollum could actually be an improvement.

I agree ... I particularly don't like Mancini v Moyes record ... Bobby's only managed 1 win and 1 draw vs his 6 wins out of 8 games against him. Don't like it one bit, it's like Mancini's bogey manager.

But rightly said elsewhere earlier, we must must beat the shit out of them in Community Shield to lay down the marker up front ... that'd be his first game for them (after pre-season).

I wouldnt worry too much about the CS (if we get there).. rags arnt able to scrap like Everton. Its a different design.. tbh I can see it imploading as Moyse (spelt incorrectly for no reason other than amusement) will get frustrated at their lack of battle and then they will say 'who the fuck are you?' especially the more senior players.

ALSO.. I think the interesting thing in all this is the fact that the Glazers are always reluctant to spend cash.. so they bring in a manager who is used to being told to make do. Hopefully thats a good sign.
