No fucking respect. No fucking respect at all.
I'm still waiting for these superstar youngsters who were promised when Cassell was pushed aside to some mickey mouse job waiting for his eventual sacking.

He's been as good as gone since he got shafted to Abu Dhabi.

I know mate, that's pretty much what I was saying when he was swept away from Academy director position. Position he was HUGELY succesfull on. At the time some people were trying to explain to me that it was some sort of promotion while others claimed that this new tenure would be providing tons of young talent to first team. Well I'm still waiting.

Classify them as you like; some of these like them or hate them are better prospects then we seem to have now:
Shaun Wright Phillips, Joey Barton, Stephen Ireland, Nedum Onuoha, Daniel Sturridge, Michael Johnson and Micah Richards

I was classifying them as "superstars". Not my term. And non of the players mentioned are yet superstars.

Cassell never promised superstars.
But we did get Micah, SWP, Johnson.
Then loads of others that we managed to sell on and have gone to make careers for themselves.
Then again i dont remember city promising superstars when Cassell was shifted either to be honest ;)

Eggsactly. Don't let that get in the way of what people think they know though.

Who said superstars came through under Cassell? That was the reason given when Cassell was [strike]sacked[/strike] moved to more important position. The players that came through under him provided the basis for competitive squad in bottom half of Premier League AND gave financially struggling Club chance to stay afloat when we sold them.

The players he brought through kept the club afloat, there would have been nothing worth buying without him. He did a remarkable job with scant resources and deserved the chance to see what he could do with the big money in place - he never got it sadly. I am now beyond sad and have moved into livid.

Write him a letter mate. It'll make you feel better.

Oh sweet Jesus, it really is getting pathetic on here over the last few days. Every single thing the club are doing is being seen as wrong and everyone is angry and annoyed.
The good Lord giveth, and the good Lord taketh away. Or something like that.
Anyway, you either want the big time or you want the old times. It can't be both.

Has "fuck you" lost its power now Maggie Smith has said it?

That's it right down to a tee. He did amazing things with shoe string budget. Anyone who genuinely don't get it either wasn't there, don't understand the situation we were in or is on a wind up just for the sake of it. He deserved the chance what he could do with proper budget. He was one of the few people at the club when Sheik (bless him) took over who genuinely knew what they were doing.
I think we are making another mistake letting this guy go. Current Academy people aren't really producing results on the field or as far as player developement goes eventhough they get kids brought in from all over the world unlike when Cassell was in charge.

Logically, no club making the huge changes we are making over the last few years can do so without casualties and decisions fans are likely to disagree with. Logically, it's tough shit.
Whining and looking for every reason to join in the rag top bashing before you know the full story is blind faith in Mancini and is completely illogical, so either balance your faith or your logic.
