Flippant yes, jesting not really. Of course winning every game just won't happen but any manager who doesn't set out to win a game isn't much of a manager imo. One thing I would expect him to do, after the shake out of buying some and selling some,is to use the squad better. I am not convinced we have any "kids" ready to step in fully yet but some need to be more integrated into the squad/team to do their fair share of the work.
If we do well in the cups ( why shouldn't we!) we will play 50 + games so the workload needs to be shared around so that the key best players (whoever they are) are not expected to play them all.I would hope the new boss can do that effectively while we keep winning. Some so called experts said we had the best squad in the league so we should have been able to field close to a 2nd eleven and still win games.I didn't think we had the best squad but I do think it wasn't used properly.
I do want us to win the league and be good in every other competition. If we get it right it's got to be a double. If not just the league and then the double the year after.

Hart
Zabs--Kompany--Lescott--Clichy
Nasri--Yaya--Barry--Silva
Aguero--Tevez
Pantilimon
Richards--Kolo--Nastasic--Kolarov
Milner--Rodwell--Garcia--Sinclair
Dzeko--Ummm, Guidetti?
That second side is better than our 05-06 first team, I am guessing midtable with Micah, Rodders, Milner and Dzeko being the star players.

The rest like our abysmal records against Sunderland and scouse 2 should then get sorted as well. I'd love us to emulate Arses unbeaten season.
Benjay wrote:Dont know if anyone listened to Calderon (former Real Madrid president) on talksport yesterday. When he was talking about why he sacked Capello he made quite an interesting comment about how he sought the opinions of Raul, Guti and Casillas. It told me that certain players there clearly had power at the club, a power that (it is reported) undermined Pellegrini in his season there (they sold Robben and Sneider against his will as well). The same player power that undermined AVB at Chelsea. I didnt see that at Utd nor at Barca. Player power I think undermined Bobby to some degree. Therefore Pellegrini's time at Real can be judged positively bearing in mind what he was contending with and both he and the board need to make sure some of our players dont get too big for their boots.
