Hughes to Stoke

Didn't see another thread on this but thought it was interesting for a discussion. It seems pretty nailed on he is going to be announced as manager within the next day or two.
After completely destroying QPR and effectively relegating them, the manager merry go round has somehow landed him a job at Stoke. I can't believe any other top flight side is willing to go near him, he couldn't have been given any more support or money at QPR and he couldn't have possible done any worse a job. He should be going for a championship job trying to rebuild his reputation.
Stoke have some money to spend apparently too, which will be good for Kia the bloodsucking leech.
I feel sorry for Stoke fans too, not much of a "new direction" compared to Pulis. Unless the new direction they wanted to go in was the Championship and possible bankruptcy.
So how does everyone else think he will do with them?

He's a joke, doesn't know how to manage a team and is only great at spending money.
I feel for Stoke if this is true.

Take the best opinions in this thread, and take the worst ones, and he's two thirds better than the worst ones.
He deserves much more credit than he gets for setting us on our path. He wasn't the messiah but he wasn't a naughty boy either.

Reports on the wireless say that, already, a Stoke fan has been seen driving round the town (and the football ground) in his van with a big banner on it saying "Hughes Out".

He's actually great with no budget and no expectations. He'd be better off going to wigan with the tafia than stoke.
He never should have fucked off fulham. Bad juju from that doomed him at qpr.
I hope he does okay. He was never a cock to us.

If he can get that lot playing half decent football it will be a major achievement.Im quite surprised he is getting another shot at a premier league club to be honest.

He's going to need a serious turnover of players to get Stoke playing football.
Be a strange Premier League with Stoke & Everton passing the ball around & West Ham lumping it at people's heads.

Do we know why he left Fulham yet because I have a feeling he'll be no better off at Stoke. However, ideal if they have no ambition other than to stay in the PL

Funny enough he left Fulham as he percieved them of having no/little ambition!!

Based on one season at Blackburn where they finished 6th? What about George Burley? What a great manager he is, no?

Well Mase I hope we get Stoke earlier in the season and not around xmas time as has been recently. Because if he does his usual bluff tactic and have them in the bottom three by December, promising that his teams come good in the second half of the season and then gets sh*tcanned, any new manager, a la O'Neill , will fire them up against us

A Stoke City supporter stages his own protest against Mark Hughes' expected managerial appointment even before it has been made.
Carl, a season ticket-holder who did not want to give his surname, drove around Stoke on Tuesday with banner calling for "Hughes out", which cost him £50.
He said: "It is not just me, it is the thoughts of 90% of Stoke fans. Security made me move on from the Britannia so I drove around. I parked on motorway bridges and people were beeping their support at me and taking photos. He is not a long-term appointment but it looks as though he is going to be appointed anyway."

Exactly. Will be great to see him relegate another team that doesn't belong in the PL
