Honestly a sad day in football that. I'd rather he went to another PL team than there.

Offered a shitload of virtually tax free money and get to live in monaco - lets cut the lad some slack
French league is getting nicely competitive

Very true.

It's going to be a very interesting window with the possibility of us, utd, Chelsea, arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham all buying big and three with new bosses.

Just hope we get the better of it all. I know our guys would have done their homework on managers and players and now i just want to see it all come together before pre-season so they all get a good run in together.

Still a sad day for football. And I hear Monaco players etc might have to pay the same rate of tax if they want to compete in the French league.

something about Monaco having to move their office to France next season...therefore the players will have to pay the french tax.

also, Valdes is staying at Barca next season now so Im curious to see who else Monaco pairs with Falcao, Moutinho, Carvalho, and Rodriguez.

How are Monaco getting the money for all this? Are they just ignoring FFP completely?

Maybe they know it's a bullshit paper tiger and have a better grasp on EU fair trade than everyone else.

They are playing a dangerous game of chicken i think - as a couple of the lads gave said, they apparently have to move offices to france where there is currently a 75% high earners tax rate
They are currently banned from ligue 1 unless they do so - it is widely believed that by gathering all these world class players they are daring ligue 1 to go through with the ban and miss out on having its profile raised by including this team with its plethera of superstars

They haven't qualified for Europe so it's not an issue.

True no-one ever goes onto make much of themselves after playing for Monaco.

We have ended up with a couple of ex-AS Monaco players who turned out to be total no-hopers

Anyone remember that no-mark A Bernarbia or the current waste of space Y Y Toure....

Isn't this the attitude to City we have to fight? Monaco were Euro runners-up in 2004, and do have 'history' just like City do. However unlike City there is no way in a million years they will comply with FFP as it has been presented to us. Still I dont expect their sponsorship deals will be 'examined' so closely!

He would've been a great addition for us but at least at Monaco, he can't hurt us so much, ala RVP (not until next season at least, if they qualify for Champs League).

Two rich teams battling it out for the honours, it's going to be another Spanish league.
