Alway at the cutting edge I think they deserve their own thread, as I've seen them causing much hilarity on other threads.

Today it seems Tevez and Dzeko are both rushing down the M62 to sign for the mid table club that once was great. I can just imagine how keen they are.

Liverpool are monitoring Manchester City strikers Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez, according to club insiders.

Manager Brendan Rodgers and his team are working on contingency plans to replace want-away striker Luis Suarez and have identified either of the Manchester City pair as a potential target.

However, Chelsea are now firm favourites for Dzeko’s signature, while a bid from Juventus is expected for Tevez.

The club are still adamant that they are not prepared to sell Suarez and are still seeking clarification of comments he made during international duty.

However, should a Real Madrid bid of £40 million materialize it is difficult to see how the club could keep hold of the player.

Either Tevez and Dzeko would be a tailor-made replacement, but the club has also looked at Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.

According to Goal.com, Tevez would be available for just £7 million and Liverpool are ready to offer the 29-year old a three-year deal.

City are planning a major overhaul this summer, with Fernandinho and Jesus Navas already signed and Manuel Pellegrini expected to be confirmed as new manager this week.

By 'monitoring them', does it mean casting an envious eye and remembering how things used to be?
