Manchester City FC has extended its relationship with a China-based specialist business development company.

Shenzhen-based Zhong An, which operates across China and Hong Kong, and the Club have been working together in a strategic partnership as the Club expands its regional footprint.

Zhong An has advised the Club as it developed some of its first major partnerships in China, including commercial relationships, media activity, and brand and fan engagement awareness programmes.

It has also advised the Club on developing partnerships with the Ministry of Education to provide coaches to support the development of grassroots football across China and with China Central Television (CCTV) on the ‘Who is the King’ football reality game show leading to national media and television coverage.

Tom Glick, chief commercial officer of City Football Group , said: " We are very pleased that we will be continuing to work with Zhong An.

"China is one of the world’s most exciting and growing football markets. We have made a firm commitment to participate in the development of football in China and to get closer than ever to our Chinese followers.

Manchester City fans will be transported to the heart of the action during the Club’s 2016 pre-season tour, thanks to a new partnership with Tencent.

The Blues have joined forces with China's largest online sports platform, to give supporters in the region access to exciting, behind-the-scenes content as they prepare for the new Premier League campaign.

With new manager Pep Guardiola at the helm, City face off against Manchester United in Beijing and Borussia Dortmund in Shenzhen, with fans being made to feel like they’re part of the journey.

The deal names Tempobet as an official regional betting partner of City in the Asia-Pacific region.

Mitsubishi Motors are struggling a bit. They own J-League club and filth wannabes urawa redshit. Recently they have apparently put urawa redshit up for sale. Their name has been removed from all sponsorship elements within the stadium, so it is going to happen.

yokohama f marinos are currently mostly owned by Nissan, the car company. It is rumoured that Nissan are the only ones who wish to buy urawa redshit. If they do, they will not be allowed to own two J-League clubs.

Speculating we'd seek to buy a South American club on the American Cityzens podcast today, which I happen to think is WILD speculation and not as in line with the reasons to purchase clubs in other lower leagues around the globe.

Football in South America is easily the #1 sport so I'm not sure how keen a Brazilian club's fans would feel about being a de facto feeder/scouting network club owned by outsiders. I claim to be no expert in club ownership/football cultures in that part of the world but somehow it strikes me as different and perhaps less allowable to have a conglomerate football group such as CFG do this even if that was an interest due to the bad taste that it might leave with fans there.

Even NYCFC fans have sometime moaned about being a feeder club, especially with the Lampard fiasco, and this is a brand new team with literally no history when he joined.

Pride in one's own leagues and clubs is surely stronger in South America and could go sour much easier than in countries like the US, Australia and Japan where club football traditions may not be as deep. I am sure there are fans who might find this comment insulting, however it cannot be denied that the sport not close to the biggest in any of these nations in terms of following and cultural value to the larger population as in South America.
