Manchester City FC has extended its relationship with a China-based specialist business development company.

Shenzhen-based Zhong An, which operates across China and Hong Kong, and the Club have been working together in a strategic partnership as the Club expands its regional footprint.

Another Chinese media partner. Should benefit 'all those blues travelling aroung China with City'. Which aint me.

http://www.mancity.com/news/club-news/2 ... 9168203167?

Manchester City fans will be transported to the heart of the action during the Club’s 2016 pre-season tour, thanks to a new partnership with Tencent.

The Blues have joined forces with China's largest online sports platform, to give supporters in the region access to exciting, behind-the-scenes content as they prepare for the new Premier League campaign.

With new manager Pep Guardiola at the helm, City face off against Manchester United in Beijing and Borussia Dortmund in Shenzhen, with fans being made to feel like they’re part of the journey.

Throughout the tour supporters will receive a unique personal insight into the Club they love, as they get up close with the squad across Tencent’s various platforms, including WeChat and Penguin Live.

Commenting on the new partnership, Tom Glick, Chief Commercial Officer, City Football Group, said:

“The reach and strength of Tencent’s media channels make them a market leader in their field and everyone at Manchester City is hugely excited to kick start our partnership with them.

"We believe the extent of their channels, coupled with the engaging and compelling content we produce, will enable football fans to gain unique insights into Manchester City and how we are preparing for the upcoming season under Pep Guardiola."

As part of this strategic collaboration, lucky Blues in Beijing will also have the opportunity to meet their City heroes at an exclusive player meet and greet with Tencent Sports users.

Plus, fans who can't make it will still be able to experience the excitement in real time, as the event will be streamed on Penguin Live.

As a leading global internet company with a strong footprint across China, Tencent has a proven track record of collaborating with sporting organisations to enhance the connection they have with their global audiences.

Glick is excited by this latest partnership, which utilises innovative content to enable City to engage further with their rapidly growing fan base across the country.

He added: “By collaborating with Tencent, we hope to not only bring current football fans closer to the action, but to also introduce the wider public to the excitement and togetherness football generates on and off the pitch.”

Echoing Glick’s enthusiasm for the partnership, Zhao Guochen, General Manager of Tencent Sports added:

“Via the various online and offline activities delivered by Tencent Sports, we are confident Manchester City will grow their Chinese fan base. We have been committed to promoting the development of football in China for many years. With the exclusive content provided by Manchester City, more Chinese football fans can truly enjoy the happiness and excitement of football.”

The deal names Tempobet as an official regional betting partner of City in the Asia-Pacific region.

Under the agreement, Tempobet will be granted the right to use the club’s badge on its website. The company will also receive access to Manchester City players for a television commercial and photoshoot.

I think Beeks exploded on him at one point in a fit of what seemed like major jealousy. He left the board for ages, and only came back sporadically after that.

Star beer, Nigeria. We've cracked it!

http://www.mancity.com/news/club-news/2 ... 2720972773?

Manchester City is delighted to announce a new multi-year partnership with leading Nigerian beer brand, Star.

Revealed at a ground-breaking event at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, the deal sees Star become City's Official Beer Partner in Nigeria, which will give consumers the opportunity get closer than ever to the Club.

Supporters will discover more about the Blues, as Star promote a range of content across the Nigerian beer market, while lucky fans will also have the opportunity to embrace the Blue Carpet matchday experience at the Etihad Stadium, shake hands with the Club’s legends and could also win City memorabilia

Moving forward, City will become synonymous with the brand, as a bottle of Star will signify a coming together of each fan with the pride, history and colours of their favourite club.

Commenting on the deal, Nick Pinder, Head of Partnerships Marketing EMEA at City Football Group, said: “We are delighted to partner with an exciting brand like Star who share Manchester City’s passion for creativity and innovation.

“We have a rapidly growing fan base in Nigeria and by partnering with Star we have a unique opportunity to connect with our fans in a more meaningful way.

“Together, we look forward to ensuring our fans in Nigeria are a part of our journey, on and off the pitch, as we provide them with exclusive access, unforgettable memories and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.”

With interest and passion for football increasing across Nigeria, Star are pleased to have the opportunity to showcase their commitment to the sport, by partnering with one of Europe’s leading football clubs.

The brand have been committed in their support of football initiatives since a highly successful campaign, which encouraged Nigerian fans to get behind the Super Eagles during the 2014 World Cup and recently announced a landmark partnership with the local NPFL league.

Marketing Director, Nigerian Breweries PLC, Franco Maria- Maggi is excited by the opportunity to bring a new dimension to the company's activity.

He added: “Even though we are Nigeria’s foremost beer brand, we continue to refresh the Star brand to keep it refreshingly new. That is what Manchester City is also bringing to football.

“They bring a freshness and new level of excitement to the established football order, and have carved a reputation for themselves in a few short years.

“We are happy to partner with the club as we both want the same things; to excite football fans and give them memorable, unforgettable moments. It is what Star has always done and this is yet another way to demonstrate our commitment to creating exciting moments for our consumers”.

Even if you're a glass half full, or a glass half empty type of personality, either way there's still a lot of beer left to drink.

Mitsubishi Motors are struggling a bit. They own J-League club and filth wannabes urawa redshit. Recently they have apparently put urawa redshit up for sale. Their name has been removed from all sponsorship elements within the stadium, so it is going to happen.

yokohama f marinos are currently mostly owned by Nissan, the car company. It is rumoured that Nissan are the only ones who wish to buy urawa redshit. If they do, they will not be allowed to own two J-League clubs.

Speculating we'd seek to buy a South American club on the American Cityzens podcast today, which I happen to think is WILD speculation and not as in line with the reasons to purchase clubs in other lower leagues around the globe.

Football in South America is easily the #1 sport so I'm not sure how keen a Brazilian club's fans would feel about being a de facto feeder/scouting network club owned by outsiders. I claim to be no expert in club ownership/football cultures in that part of the world but somehow it strikes me as different and perhaps less allowable to have a conglomerate football group such as CFG do this even if that was an interest due to the bad taste that it might leave with fans there.

Even NYCFC fans have sometime moaned about being a feeder club, especially with the Lampard fiasco, and this is a brand new team with literally no history when he joined.

Pride in one's own leagues and clubs is surely stronger in South America and could go sour much easier than in countries like the US, Australia and Japan where club football traditions may not be as deep. I am sure there are fans who might find this comment insulting, however it cannot be denied that the sport not close to the biggest in any of these nations in terms of following and cultural value to the larger population as in South America.

Wow. That was a really enlightening read and it just showcases what the plans for CFG are and how far ahead in terms of vision we are against our rivals. Sorriano in his role has done wonders up to now
