Well if our Etihaad deal was considered unfair surely this kit deal for the Chelski must be.

Forgive my maths but £300m for 10years is £30m a year ie exactly the same as Arsenal's deal or am I missing something?

I think the Etihad deal raised eyebrows probably because some idiots decided that Etihad is related to the sheikh and thus they thought that it was the sheikh sponsoring himself. I don't agree with them, btw.

300 mill to make the exact same kit for 10 years.

Makes sense.

This isn't about the Etihad deal, it's about the shirt makers. Aren't United and Arsenal on similar deals, 30 mil a season and Liverpool on about 25 mil? Ours is insignificant compared, way down at 12 mil.

Looking at some of the other deals going around, I wonder if our pants have been pulled down but do realise we aren't selling anywhere near the shirts they are. Even our Etihad deal pales into insignifcance now when placed next to the new United/Chevvy deal.

At the point we signed the Etihad deal, it was a good deal for us. The way things have gone for us and in shirt deals recently, we could probably get more. The key thing will be can we get more from a non-Abu Dhabi related company when the current deal is up? That will be the business plan and the current Etihad deal is helping us get there

I think our current deals are well over what the rest of the market would pay but we're getting that future factor added on. The shirt deal with Nike was reported to add 4 million a year to our deal which is excellent if you think about it, a 50% increase on the Umbro deal. What also comes with that is Nike's very own global marketing strategy that they used with the likes of the Rags, building up the brand for us rather than us doing it on our own.

My point was why no Wenger moaning that it's unfair like he was with our deal and also no Prem investigation on whether the deal is legal.Forgive my ignorance if i am getting this all wrong but it's splashed all over the back pages of the red tops yet i have not heard a single word in protest unlike when we struck our deal.

I'd say that given not that long ago we were shifting about 250k shirts a season and compared to what the 'old top 4' have been selling, I think we aren't doing too bad currently..

Rags sell 1.4 fookin MILLION as do Real Madrid, chelski 900k arse and scouser's despite their not so good performances still flogging loads more than us.

This is the newest link I could find..

Hopefully with Nike behind us and our success on the pitch and the clubs improving global appeal, we'll be commanding bigger figure next time around.

Because Chelsea are part of the Cartel - their 'yes' vote to Prem FFP showed their hand.

Incidentally I would be very surprised if we had to wait until the end of our current deal to negotiate better terms.

Liverpool's Warrior deal was way overpriced by Warrior so they could get into the kit market, by the way. And judging by some of the designs they wont be there long.

All this stuff stops them from having a legitimate complaint when we up the stakes.

They really are awful. They should just stick to what they're good at: lacrosse.

Did the Etihad deal cover the training kit? The rags set the market value for that one.

Wonder if the Etihad sponsorship is affected by the size of the stadium? Increased size means more punters setting their logo etc

not for about 4-5 years,Nike replaced Umbro as our kit manufacturer and took over the 10 year deal and we are in year 5 or 6 now.

no reason we cannot renegotiate it though :-)

new sponsorship deal for Chelsea. what is our per year take?

Chelsea have announced their "largest ever commercial deal" with Yokohama Rubber, reportedly worth £40m-a-year.

Yokohama Rubber, one of the world's leading tyre manufacturers, has signed a five-year deal beginning from the 2015-16 season and their logo will appear on all the Blues' shirts from the first team to their youth teams.

The deal eclipses the previous £18m-a-year deal with Samsung and could place Chelsea second only to Manchester United's £53m-a-year deal with Chevrolet.

The agreement was wrapped-up today after talks in London between Yokohama chairman Tadanobu Nagumo and Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck, before photoshoots with manager José Mourinho and club captain John Terry.

Blues chief Buck said: "Chelsea and Yokohama are a perfect fit. Both are global organisations with a focus on performance and innovation, as well as having huge ambition and an unwavering culture of success.

“We believe that Yokohama will play a key role in helping us drive our global expansion in international markets, such as the United States, where they have operated with distinction for many years.

"Also, of course, Chelsea having such an esteemed and historic Japanese company as our partner enables us to accelerate our development in their home market too.

''We are also looking forward to working with Yokohama on our community projects around the world through the Chelsea Foundation, when together we can use the power of sport as a force for good."

Yokahama boss Nagumo said: “This shirt partnership with Chelsea will give Yokohama an opportunity to showcase our company to a huge worldwide audience thanks to Chelsea’s ever-growing popularity."
