I'm a frequent visitor to http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ which is worth visiting for those of us of a statistical sort of mind. Looking at it and the recent thread re marquee signing set me thinking who was the last City player to wear number 9?

I'm of perhaps a slightly older generation pre squad numbers and when the number you wore was an indication of where you played. The number 9 shirt was the one to have really and it seems a pity Kun is playing with 16

Doesn't he play with number 16 for Argentina?

Didn't Adebayor have number 25? Guess I didn't remember him using number 9.

He got given the number 9 and then got binned off. His 25 went to Hart who then binned that off for 1.

After reading some of the attitude changes on here the last couple of years, we should be aware of what we lost when we gained our world class squad. I finally saw yesterday what that Leslie-licking DoomMerchant was talking about about the crap posters joining in the last crop.
