A host of stories in the Spanish press today about our sudden raising of the offer which immediately changed the mind of Sr Del Nido, like this one:

http://www.estadiodeportivo.com/sevilla ... /7580.html

Despite the fact Del Nido said at mid day that Negredo was a long distance from going to City and that only 1% of the deal was completed, the remaining '99%' is going to be done imminently. According to sources of Estadio Deportivo, the transfer has been accelerated and will be made official today, Tuesday, for a figure of around 28 million euros, 25 up front plus 3 in variables.

More importantly, has anyone written about it on Twitter yet?

It doesn't matter who has written it, but as long as it's on Twitter it must be true!

From Graham Hunter;

#City should sign #Negredo imminently for €25m plus a further 3m depending on performance/trophies/league position etc

Based on all the rumblings, it's very likely like this will happen.

Ffs lot of copper that. Even though I reckon he'll be good for us. His name sounds like a pain killer tablet or something.

Let's hope he takes last year's pain away then.

Was this lad 14 mill to WHUFC. 31 mill is a lot of dough plus 24 for Bon Jovi, Cavani looks a reasonable price.

Negredo was always going to be around the price we paid/will pay, the link to west ham and the money associated to that was just tabloid rubbish (early summer nothing to print stuff) so I wouldn't read too much into that.

It's pretty rare you see any striker in world football with an established 1 in 2 strike rate go for less than £20 million these days.

If we bag both Negredo and Jovetic for around £50 million, pay both under £100k per week, we still will be paying less than we would have had to have shelled out for Cavani, in both transfer fee and wages.

Everything about the Cavani deal is off the scale, only PSG would ever pay it.

Eggsactly.
I reckon that Cavani deal will end up topping the 80 millions for Ronaldo when you take in agents fees and all the other bollox his hangers on have got.
CRAZY MONEY,we NEEDED two strikers and didnt see the value in Cavani.

It's all here, in Norway.

The wage bill is being absolutely slashed. If we wanted players like Negredo & Jovetic to come to City a few years back, we would have had to pay them double & bung their agents a fortune. They still probably wouldn't have signed.

We are gradually getting into proper 'major club' territory, where we offer terms & if you don't want to play for us, you can fuck off.

Phase 3 will be to attract a real top of the world player but first we probably have to make an impression in the Champs lg.
