Sad to convey the news that one of the club's genuine legends has passed on today.

Unconfirmed reports on another forum that he has passed away. Nothing on the internet as yet.

The flag was at half mast at the stadium when Cooper gave a report on the Negredo signing, but this could be for George Smith

The family had been hopeful that he could recover from 2 recent heart attacks but complications in lungs had resulted

He was my hero as a child and as a man, he inspired True Grit and an ability to overcome whatever life threw at him. He was unity, forgiveness, compassion and humanity. No City fan will ever forget him, a true legend. My condolences to his family and friends, may he rest in peace.

Oh no

that's news you never hope to hear.
Peerless example of so many things including courage, skill, commitment and compassion.
The backbone of our legacy and impossible to replace.
Sleep tight big un.
