Reports today suggesting that Arsenal are set to miss out on signing him, and Napoli are favourites to sign him..
Have I missed something? Isn't he the perfect replacement for Tevez?
I know its a moot point with the additions of jovetic and negrado (and im pleased with those two - especially jovetic) - but why were we never in for him?
the best quality:price striker available in my book.

Are there any strikers in La Liga that aren't banging them in? I just checked his stats and if he isn't the same player as before his injury, then how much better than 16 in 28 would he have done?

Big fan of Higuain but i'd say he's a lot more like Aguero personally. Plays off the shoulder compared to Tevez who drops a lot deeper these days.

Correct. No deal done, but fee agreed (according to Sky Italia).
Napoli 'agree £32m fee for Higuain'Napoli have agreed a fee of €37m (£32m) with Real Madrid for striker Gonzalo Higuain according to reports in Italy but the deal is still far from done.According to Sky Italia, the deal is complicated by Napoli's insistence that they get full image rights to the player – Higuain holds 50 per cent of his image rights at Real which is worth about two million euros a year to him via a sponsorship deal with Nike.
The report claims that Napoli would be willing to pay Higuain €115,000-a-week to try and tempt him to release his image rights.
Higuain has been heavily linked with Arsenal this summer but their interest has cooled as Real's valuation has increased.
The Serie A club have money to spend after agreeing the sale of Uruguay striker Edinson Cavani to Paris St Germain for a reported fee of 64 million euros (£55m) and are looking to strengthen their squad for their domestic and Champions League campaigns.
Napoli last week agreed to sign versatile Spanish forward Jose Callejon from Real having already secured the services of Belgium winger Dries Mertens. Spain defender Raul Albiol has also signed a four-year contract after again joining from Real while Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has agreed a season-long loan and will join in the next few days. The new signing have joined up with Spaniard Rafa Benitez, who was appointed Napoli coach at the end of May.
The former Liverpool, Chelsea and Inter Milan manager replaced Walter Mazzarri, who quit after the team finished second behind Juventus last season to qualify for Europe's elite club competition.

Well i read somewhere that Higuain's back is fucked so that might be a reason we have'nt been in for him.I don't recall where i read it but he apparently has a really bad back problem. But it could have been bollox .

Used to be a big fan of his but not in recent times.
If Negredo had been playing for Real v City, we would have been 6 down by half time. Higuain being shit kept us in it.
He is also totally different to the players we have signed so is not a like for like comparison. We obviously wanted something different, not him.

Higuain on top form not even close to £32m, he's £15m - £20m. Because he's a Madrid player that would make him £25m max.
