As the poll is anonymous I thought it would be interesting to see just how many new supporters our recent elevation has garnered.

Actively since the Bernstein era. It would be unfair to class my support as true support pre that as I was very young, lived down south and just couldn't get to games.

My uncles ensured I supported them from the crib.

No poll showing on the app, so will say that I was born mid to late 60's, born a blue (in manc) , parents moved down south before I could walk. First recollection of going to a game was about two months after becoming a 'junior blue' when I was about five yrs old.

I love the app just a shame I couldn't use/see the poll.

Just click the "view poll" button on the very top!

It's there on iOS at least

Mid 80's I guess so I clicked Swales. Been blue all my life, but circumstances dictate how much interaction I've had at times.

Can I also add I have no issues with new supporters, more the merrier.

Just don't slate the club if your 1 connection doesn't last/gets strained. Be it a player, manager or even the sheik.

None will ever come before city. Respect that and you'll get respect back.

I've put the Francis Lee one, as I was 6 in 1994 & remember it pretty well, before that is a little patchy memory wise, 1994/95 was probably the year I 'followed' city myself without having to rely on my Dad for scores etc

Obviously with my support being a hereditary non optional thing there was never really a date or event I started supporting..

Born in 1970 into a blue family but my first ever experience of a live game was at old trafford. I was taken by a scum worshipper to the swamp... then I found maine road.... wow. Instant love.

I don't get these options. I've been following City since mid-80's. I wasn't even born when Swales took over but I had been following City for years and was already well into my teens when "forward with Franny" hit us. Where does that put me.

I'm surprised how few are admitting to getting aboard in past few years. I agree with Lee, the more the merrier. Just be honest with yourself and rest of us. There's no need to pretend you are anything you are not around here.

That would put you in the Swales era then. Simple.

I'm of the pre Swales vintage. My great grandad was from Edinburgh and I think a Hearts fan. He moved his young family to Manchester after WW1 to find better work (as a French polisher) and lived on Mauldeth Rd. my grandfather grew up just a few hundred yards from Maine road and so became a city fan.

My father who was born at Mornington Crescent which I think is probably Fallowfield and followed his father's love of the club. He married my mother whose family were from Stretford so you can guess what colour my mother's family were. I was born in Alty so could easily have been influenced by the dark side but went with my father grandfather and uncle to city at about 6 or 7 in the late 60s. My first memory was losing at home to Sheffield Utd. Have never liked the Yarkshire clubs since.

By time I was ten was going regularly with mates by bus from Wilmslow. This would be early 70s and we would have a bovril a scotch pie and then go bellow away in the Kippax making sure we got there early so we could get a spot in front of a crash bar as it could be a scary business if you were a kid in the swelling sea of blue that was the extraordinary stand that was the Kippax. One particular memory about it was after the game the, very scary business of getting down the steps from the stand. One trip and you'd be a gonna.

Ah well happy days and I do miss the old place.

Up until i was about 10 one of my uncles took me to Everton games, however he was with the Marines and ended up moving darn sarf.

Then in '99 another of my uncles bought me a Junior Blue membership and began taking me to games. Best decision I never made.

Since the early 70s growing up in moss side and a family full of blues - no choice in the matter and loved every minute of the roller coaster ride - frustrating at times (ok most of the time) with a few highlights (ok apart from the Huddersfield game, the 5-1 and gillingham not many).

Dad is a blue, so I was born a blue. Was looking through family pictures for my wedding (City themed, obviously) and from the age of around 4 - 14 all pictures were in something City. First memory that sticks out is 99 play off final, I was 7 then.
