NEW YORK, August 22, 2013 - The YES Network, the most-watched regional sports network in the country the past 10 years, has reached a multi-year agreement with Manchester City Football Club by which YES will televise soccer games involving Manchester City, the 2011-12 English Premier League (EPL) champion, 2011 FA Cup champion and 2013 FA Cup runner-up, in HD on tape delay.
The first Manchester City match televised by YES will be tonight, August 22, (10 pm ET), against Newcastle United, which was City's first match of the 2013-14 EPL season.
As part of the deal, YES will also televise the CityLife and Inside City magazine shows which give Manchester City fans intimate behind-the-scenes insights in to the club and its players off the pitch, while keeping fans abreast of the latest team news.
Manchester City's games and magazine shows will not only air on YES within the network's home team footprint (throughout New York State and Connecticut, northern and central New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania), but also on YES National, the network's national feed which is available throughout the country on satellite, telephone companies' video services, and cable.

"It is not hyperbole to state that Manchester City is a true powerhouse in the world of professional soccer," said John Filippelli, President, Production and Programming, YES Network. "It is an honor and privilege to add this elite package to our Emmy Award- winning programming lineup."
Tom Glick, Chief Commercial & Operating Officer for Manchester City Football Club, said:
"We are delighted to be working with the YES Network to expand our coverage in the U.S. and bring our fans closer to the club they love. Manchester City's U.S. fan base has grown tremendously over the past few years, fueled by the rising popularity of the Premier League, the most-watched soccer league in the world. YES' strength in the New York area, where Manchester City have found a second home with the recent establishment of New York City F.C., in partnership with the New York Yankees, fits perfectly with our desire to serve the New York Metropolitan Area's fans."
Manchester City, under new manager Manuel Pelligrini, is primed for a run for its second EPL title in three seasons. It has added quality players Stevan Jovetic, Alvaro Negredo, Jesus Navas and Fernandinho to an already strong squad including international players Sergio Aguero, Vincent Kompany, Yaya Toure, Spanish World Cup and Euro Cup winner David Silva, and England national goalkeeper Joe Hart.
