Yet another injury.
He has been sent home from Spains training camp after an mri scan revealed a mild muscular injury. They have sent him home as a precuation to avoid further complications.
Does not seem serious but i presume he will be out for the Stoke and Plzen games anyway.

he didnt play in the first game last week either so it must be something picked up in training or we sent him out there with it.
Time for Nasri and Jovetic to step in

I think we have to man up, we have enough ability to wipe the floor with most teams in the League, Champions League we need to be at it with the best team we have available, Stoke away I hope we have the system, shape and desire to make our class tell. Excuses are not going to cut it. The coaches are I guess on Millions a year between them, Belgium have lost the captain, the show carried on as though nothing happened Stoke are a version of Scotland hard working, ball out wide 442. Rely on a set piece. Surely we can coach and plan for such bread and butter teams. If not then we are soft twats.

Not at all concerned if Silva has to miss a match.Pellegrini needs to involve/start more of the squad anyway to see what they are all about and how they fit in to the team and the way he wants them to play.I was worried that he might just keep playing the "best" team as he saw it which I could only see causing a few issues with players like Nasri,Jovetic,Rodders and maybe Micah when fit.
Just as long as we beat Stoke.

I'm not sure Silva has been the player we know and love recently anyway.....other players deserve a chance and Silva (much like Toure & Hart) shouldn't be in the starting 11 just because of his name and reputation

No excuses we are light years better than the likes of Stoke, keep the ball 0-3 if we are at it, if not long day and anything could happen which I am not having, the team and Coach need to make a statement aor every man and his dog will smell a weakness.

Do you even watch him play? Wouldn't chelsea or arsenal be more your neck of the woods anyway.

If he's only out the next 2 games it shouldn't be too bad. Pellegrini needs to rotate the squad to see what he has...especially with the games coming fast now

Not bothered. We can cope. Will give Milner a chance hopefully.

Never good to have a player of his quality injured, but we should be able to cope without him. This is definitely a game to bring Milner in.
His defensive abilities will help us, plus despite his 'hardworking' tag, he is always a creative influence for us. Deserves to be in the side so hopefully we see him this weekend.

I'd actually give Nasri a go in his absence. I don't think staying relatively high and wide as a counterpoint to Navas is Silva's game anyway. It isn't Nasri's either, but he's a bit better at it and makes more timely forward runs off the ball.
Milner would do a good job too, but I'd like to see him in the middle next time he starts.

I think it's tailor made for Milner tbh. His physicality and robustness will help against this sort of opposition. Can just see Nasri being bullied.
Also he's probably our best long range shooter imo and that can be an asset when struggling to break down a side.
