Liverpool winning 1-0 with an awesome 45 yard lob of the keeper. Great strike by Morgan and he meant it too

I wouldn't call it a lob but a strong 45 shot that sailed under the bar.It was in the minute he hit it.We were woeful weren't we in that first half especially and boy were some of those LPool defenders big.Bloody basketball players!

We were at it more in the 2nd half but still completely lacking in creativity.Their 2nd goal wasn't really threatened but still no surprise when it came and from strong surge from their massive right back with a perfect cut back. Can't really say any City player shone on the night but Denayer continues to look a prospect. The rest not worthy of mention as I don't want to be too negative.

I'm always willing to be negative !

Imo, we won't be seeing many of that particular 11 playing in a City 1st team, none of the 'creative' or attacking players look quite good enough unless theyare experiencing a huge loss of form. But certainly Denayer looks a bit special to me & Facey looks good too.

Again though, like Rekik, I can't imagine either of them playing centre back against someone like Negredo, even in the future but I could imagine them playing fullback or where Fernandinho played Sunday. Like Rekik, they are decent defenders & footbllers & must have a chance of a position somewhere; they actually look better footballers & faster than Rekik to me.

But marking Peter Crouch as cbs? Doubtful.

Was watching Patrick V's post match interview and interestingly both Lopes and Greg Leigh were pulled from the team as The Count has asked for them to be part of the squad for Wigan.

Good to hear!

It's a pity both Pozo & Guidetti are injured/recovering.

Both would likely be in tonight's squad.

Tis a positive. With Clichy still out I guess Leigh is the natural understudy for Kolarov and might even start if Pellegrini feels he needs to rest Kolarov. Lopes has apparently shone so far this season but may have to start on the bench as we have so many midfield players needing a run out.

I'd expect Leigh to start in the circumstances really (and that's not my anti-Kolarov tendancies kicking in, just logic), and wouldn't be surprised if Lopes started too.

I believe Lopes has 4 in 5 now for the EDS, he should be at least on the bench.
