Is this where we can all see what we were missing. A player like Navas on the wing, somebody who can drag defences apart, and the likes of Fernando who can do the de Jong job with a better forward quality, are there any complaints?

I may be accused of being biased or even delusional, but I think our combined attacking force: Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo, Jovetic, is the best in the world.
The entire squad: arguably amongst the best in the world.

Good enough to make me feel as excited as a spoilt, rich kid on Christmas Eve.

Very good. I love this current squad from GK to FW. Imagine if we actually got Isco. Damnnn

As long as Navas devotes most of his time to staying wide and Yaya is allowed to get forward it looks good

Can I defer my answer until next Wednesday night? If we beat Bayern then everyone will know. But we are City, so I'm expecting two defeats in the next two games and everyone on here will be rioting.

I agree - next Wednesday will be the time to judge.

The squad is very good, but we're playing the best side in the world next Wednesday so we'll get an indication then of how far away we are from the best.

We're starting to look good now though. My main concerns are still over centre midfield - we haven't really been tested in the last 3 games - but hopefully this has given the team some time to adjust to their roles and, in turn, we will be better prepared for the bigger challenges.

hugely reliant on the form of 2 or 3 key players

I think yaya pushing on in the last few games has made a huge difference but yeah, top squad.

The only player in the squad I dread seeing on the pitch is Garcia - I imagine he's probably an alright player, he just wants too much time on the ball and always gets caught dwelling on it - just not up to the pace of the premier league.

Our squad is only as good as they play on the day ... it wasn't very different set of players who fucked up against Wigan in FA Cup final (yes, it still hurts) ... and yes we have had additions since then, but what about Cardiff or even a win against Hull? Our squad will seem the best when we score 3/4/5 goals ... and when we scrap for 1-0 wins away from home or hell go goalless or 1-1 draws, they'll look like a bunch of twats ... well, that's how they seem reading this forum ;)

having spent what we've spent, it would have been nice if we could bucked that trend...

I too think a true barometer reading of how good we are will be against Bayern next week. The last 3 opponents we have played are not really any good so i'm taking those results at face value.

We have to some degree. We're still overly reliant on Kompany, but can you honestly say that we've missed Silva the last couple of games? Our attacking game used to fall to pieces when he was out in previous seasons.

Class: The rest.
