No players today asit would be somewhat defeating. Question is:

Should Bayern be beating us so resoundly, at home?

Just got in,all i can say is wtf and i mean WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was fucking shocking, first half they had 67% possession and completed over 260 passes to our 60.

We were abysmal,i can take defeat but to be so comprehensively beaten like we were hurt.

I wish i had just stood there for 90 minutes instead of 1 minute with that white piece of plastic in front of my face from the "visual experience"

Joe Hart had another barn storming performance in net.

It was an absolute shamble but no I never expected to be so. We are much better than what we showed tonight and even though I never thought we can beat Bayren, I still thought we'll still give them a match and a draw would have been a good result for us. Playing with 2 up front against arguably the best club team in the world at the moment was pure stupidity on the part of the Count.

Reminded meof the Forest game in the Cup a few years back. The only ever time I left early and hoped a player would fall over himelsf and never play again.

I expected to pick up 0 out of 6 points against Bayern so I have to say tonight was not a surprise for me. My hope from these two games was to give them a game to give us some confidence if we happen to come up against them or any of the top 4 teams in Europe again.

Quarter finals at best. We might get out of this group but the next truly good European side we play against will spank us.

You can tell by the crowd who seem to be suffering from imposter syndrome in these CL nights that we have zero confidence in Europe. People talk about special European nights at Anfield, Old Trafford and Parkhead where the crowd is the twelve man. We sit there in silence waiting on it going wrong. It was as quiet as a library tonight.

Just got back from the Etihad , my thoughts ......

1. Pelegrini picked the wrong team.

2. Hart had a shocker.

3. Bayern were stronger on and off the ball than us.

4. Bayern maybe better than they were last season when they won the CL smashing Barca seven aswell .

5. Bayern are very fucking good !

We did fair better than Barca! Those games were as one sides as tonight and they made better players than ours look like mortals.

I am thought we were shockingly bad tonight but you have to hold your hands up and say that was a stunningly good performance by the best team in Europe tonight. It will take another anti football effort similar to Chelsea's in 2012 to stop them this year.

No.
I'm gutted as expected, although I hoped we'd win and half expected we'd lose, but by at most a one-goal difference at home.
It's us vs. CSKA Moscow for 2nd; there's still a light at the end of the tunnel as Plzen and CSKA still have play on our home turf, and we're likely to nab six points then, totalling at least nine points (if no Ajax-like blunder happens). Hopefully CSKA is less fortunate than us and nine is enough.
I noticed that once Milner and Silva came on, together with Negredo before that, our game upped a notch or two, albeit Silva's lack of full fitness showing. Just maybe if they'd started, the result would have turned out differently, at least a draw. Time to rotate Hart with Pantilimon?
I refuse to believe that Bayern is the better team if we're playing at our best, and our best squad at the time is identified and put to use strategically. Hope Pelle took notes; we'll see what happens next.

Should have matched them up in the middle of the pitch, as it was the extra man for bayern that meant we were completely over run.

Pep's record v the count going into this was played 8 won 7 drew 1 (3-3 v Villareal). Pep said he respects Pellers, but that he knew how he would set his team out against him - we played right into his hands. Really disappointed that we waited until the game was gone before we played with 1 striker and loaded up in the middle of the pitch. It brought us a goal and a red card for boateng - as Jim Bowen used to say 'look what you could have won'

Nevermind, it's what we learn from this that is important, hopefully Pep won't know how Pellers is going set his stall out in the return fixture, but that's 8 out of 9 now, how many is it going to take before he changes his formation.

Schooled by a masterful side that tore Barca a new onw last year.

Unimpressed with the starting line up - Zabba should have started, as should Milner and Negredo for starters. Question marks over Silva'sfitness but maybe he could have played the first 45 and be replaced by Nasri for the second half.

Little or no pressure on Ribery for the first goal, and despite the power on the shot, hart should have had that tipped around the post.

Total brain fart from Clichy for the second, what was he doing? If he'd have tracked his man then he would have at least had a chance to put him off. Hart stranded in no mans land tried but give himself no chance.

Third goal, well Vinny tried to take the ball out from the back which I think was an act of desperation, although a stupid one. Would like to have seen Nastasic at least put a challenge in but as said by others in previous threads, he isn't the mature centre half we need in the CL (yet). Looking forward to Demicheles returning from injury, I don't think Lescott is the answer in Europe - he just doesn't have the required composure on the ball.

Substitutions came too late but seemed to work, Milner provided some industry, Silva the fast and accurate passes and movement, and Negredo managed to bag a nice goal despite feeding on scraps for most of his time on the pitch.

A shame Yaya couldn't get away from Boateng's rash challenge as I'm sure he'd have put the ball in the back of the net given his recent form, and that could have made for an interesting final ten minutes. Had that happened, and we'd have got something from the game it'd have been a huge injustice to Bayern, who seem to have further evolved from last year.

From Manuel's post match comments, it seems that this really wasn't a targeted game. I don't agree with targeting games, we should be heading out to win every time. Heavily disappointed but its not the end of the world, Saturday's team selection will be interesting though and I hope the manager is getting to know his squad and will instil some consitency to his team selections, and his choice of formation.

Desperate to see less tinkering, a stable formation and a bit more desire from our players. They are well ahead of us, but tonight could have been very different. But that's life... games against CSKA are crucial now, and I fear we could really struggle over at their gaff. They played in St. Petersburg tonight for some reason, something to do with their pitch being unsafe to play on. And the Plzen OG, if you've seen it, well if Joe Hart makes a mistake like that then I'd hope his days with us were numbered! Comical!

It was a masterclass from Bayern but tactically we got it so so wrong. It's almost pointless in blaming individuals ( apart from Joe) as the way we were set up made it so hard for individuals to look anything but awful although it does also show the lack of real fight in some players.
