Yaya

Without a doubt world-class when playing at his best.
I've been thinking though about his offensive vs. defensive midfielder roles/preferences recently.
We know he dabbled in centre back when he was at Barcelona, but is this his forte?
From what I've seen, he is way more effective as an attacking midfielder.
We've seen evidence of this:
- his hefty movement forward with the ball on the counter-attack is unrivalled
- his free kicks are usually superb
- his link up to the back is often not up to par
Makes me think that his traditional central midfielder position, pairing with Fernandinho, is not ideal and is actually holding him back, literally and figuratively.
How about pairing Milner or Rodwell with Fernandinho, and testing Yaya more forward with either Silva or Nasri. He could still on occasion play box-to-box, depending on where the concentration of play is.
But I think do this once the defence injury issues are sorted, which hopefully will be after the international break.
Thoughts?
