The view from the [strike]Away[/strike] Home end

Is it even possible that we can contemplate a third away win on the run? Will we see The Count making the usual excuse that the team is tired after their trip to Moscow? Whatever happens I can’t wait. One final thing, the ref on Sunday is Howard Webb – are you nervous now?. Time to get the beer in.

They seem quite confident at this point, although there is a willingness to settle for a draw. I can see the special one going for a draw as well. I might add to this later because they are quite chatty in their board.

Team Selection:

Cech
Ivan - Cahill - Terry - Bertrand
Ramires - Lampard
Hazard - Oscar - Schurrle
Torres

My Favourite:

City have been the one side to consistently trouble us over the last few years and it needs to end. It's mainly because of Toure, but I just don't know how we're going to deal with him.
( I also like the ‘also rans’ comment as well )

So this is going to be a huge game for both sides. And for the first time this season I think Jose will have a bit of selection headache for the right reasons. We have two strikers who look supremely confident right now and if we were playing any other team I would love to see them paired together from the start. But that midfield City have is just too strong at the moment for us to start two strikers, in my humble opinion

The good news is they have to go to Moscow for the CL, so lets hope the Russians give them a game to compound it. A loss for either team will be especially demoralising as everyone else at the top has much easier games, and it won't feel nice potentially being knocked back into 8th with the also-rans like Hull and United.

No doubt people will be confident after this mornings result but I'm absolutley 100% without any shadow of doubt willing to accept a draw here . A win of course , would be amazing .

...to me this has a 2 2 draw written all over it......i believe chelsea will play very well in the second half and overpower city, but, with a possible , normal for us, slow start, city will have enough nous to take advantage......unless of course...chelseas team go into this match with a different mindset

Should be one or two surprises from José, can't wait for this game.

City is always a bloody tough game for us, at least they have not got Tevez anymore!
David silva and Aguero both on great form. Gonna be tough but I reckon we'll nick it 2-1

Tough game, but we can win it.

4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 is almost identical formations. Especially when Oscar plays the "10". He tracks back a lot and comes deep for the ball. Against Schalke he dropped very deep especially at the start of the second halfand we played with a three man midfield. I think we will se more of the same against City in an effort to shore up in defense and keep moving the ball better from the back four. I think Mourinho might play Mikel/Ramires for this one with Oscar as the 10. Gives us more flexibility and gives Ramires more freedom to make offensive runs, especially on the counter

We are due a win against City, feeling quite positive about this one.

Nasri is the c**t we need to watch out for.

We are the home team and I don't think any of the City players merit man-marking but Toure has run things against us on more than one occasion and that certainly needs addressing and I don't think we have anyone currently better equipped to do that than Luiz,

Kompany has been passed fit for the game. City at full strength then.

Under Mancini against Chelsea we could expect a draw or a win. With the count I'm unsure. Especially since vin diesel ins injured. Not only is Garcia shit in his normal position but he is so bad at cb. If I was lescott I'd ask for a transfer if this mug starts ahead of me. It does not make sense when micha, lescott could play there. Micha needs more game time anyway if zab is playing on the right. Not to mention nasti has been found out this season as a lightweight.

Ditto to loving the views from the 'away' perspective. Interesting how most fans of the clubs we've played think by stopping Yaya they have a chance whereas as a forum his value is hit and miss. Personally love him. A beast of a player & when he's on it, one of the very best in world.
There's also invariably a lot of support for Edin as well with surprise he doesnt play more. Think as season goes on fans will be shitting themseles at the thought of Neggers and Aguero together, (as will a lot of managers).

I don't think many on here think that it's easy to stop Yaya or that he isn't a top player.

More that it's often difficult for Yaya to stop anyone else.

Thats the point i was trying to make. How many times have we moaned about Yayas lack of tracking back or defending in general. All my non city mates think Yaya is the complete midfielder, including defending!! I think other teams fans think Yaya is the be all and end all which just isn't the case. We are so much more than the Yaya Toure show
