Chelsea v Manchester City
Stamford Bridge, London

Sunday, 27 October 2013
Kick-off: 1600 hrs

Referee: Howard Webb

Jose Mourinho has NEVER lost a Premier League home game at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea manager (that's 50 matches and counting) ... anybody happy with an away draw in this one then or time to change that little stat?

Time to change that stat. This Chelsea squad is nowhere near as good as the first one Mourinho had and the Premier League is now far more balanced than it was under Mourinho's previous tenure at the helm. Plus we are light years ahead of the team we were in those days

There's no game in the PL that i'd ever 'take a draw' in. We have a squad capable of beating anyone at any ground.
A win here will be a massive signal of intent.

Records are made to be broken. Weren't we the only team to beat them one season under Jose last time out?

Yep - that's correct.

We've played very well against Chelsea in recent years, and there's no reason that shouldn't continue...apart from our defence.

Chelsea isnt as great as they should be but our defense is shit. If Vinnie is out their midfield trio could causes us some big problems.

Last 5 results at Chelsea

Nov 2012 - 0-0
Dec 2011 - 2-1 Loss
Mar 2011 - 2-0 Loss
Feb 2010 - 4-2 Win
Mar 2009 - 1-0 Loss

Not great really, but I think if we have a strong defence we can turn them over
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

Fully expect a win on sunday. Simply put, our boys are better than their boys and we are now starting to play well away as confidence is growing

When Bayern came to the Et, Pep had a look at us & thought; 'these are fucking dangerous' so he played 6 midfield players & tore us a new arsehole.

If I was Jose Mourinho, I would already know how the Count will set up tactically, so it would be down to whether I thought my attack was better than City's. 9 times out of 10, it won't be, so I would make sure Chelsea were tight at the back, outnumbered City in midfield, & then rely on our attacking threat being better than City's defence over 90.

If the Count was then to do something completely different, Jose's game plan would be absolutely fucked.

What's the betting he just plays right into Jose's hands & just hopes our players win it by being brilliant ?

This is the toughest prem fixture of the whole season on paper.

I'll be content with a draw but we are their bogey team...

Now that it appears the Premier League is starting to actually compete with Manchester Utd, rather than just hand them 3 points every week for doing absolutley fuck all, a point v the likes of Chelsea/Arse away becomes a very reasonable result.

In previous seasons, it's dropping 2 points because you know the same team would probably lose to those cunts.

That's what I would expect us to do.Play like we play with 2 strikers and 2 nominally wide players. On the basis they will be Nasri and Silva we can expect they will both play quite narrow so the competition in the middle of the park will be good and I expect we will win that part of the game.

The worry will be how well we handle their breaking through Hazard and Oscar plus Torres if he is free to play again.Based on his last premiership outing he looked really aggressive and up for it and we only have Vinnie who can handle him.Good job Vinnie is expected to be back.

The pessimist in me thinks we could get beaten but we are in good form so I am going for an end to Mourinho's unbeaten home league run.We just have to have good finishing on the day.

Have to agree with this. A win for us on Sunday would be a big statement.

It seems Kompany has been ruled out of the game by Pellegrini.

Kompany out is not good, this is by far our BIGGEST game now and we must win, it will be interesting to see what team the Count picks because that back line against Moscow was terrible. Use that defence again and Chelski will rip us a new asshole I reckon.......

No Kompany, again - "sigh"

We will now likely need to score 3 to get something from this one. We might have the indian sign over them at home but we dont at Stamford Bridge for sure. A draw would be an outstanding result here.

If he picks Garcia at the back again, I think we know how this game will end up. Pick Lescott, Richards or even Demechelis at c-half and we may have a shout.
