Garcia and Fernandinho

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Garcia and Fernandinho

are significantly worse than de Jong and Barry. The fact that our scouting network and football directors/Catalans thought this was the way to go frightens me.

Fernandinho can be salvaged if he stops chipping it off the fucking pitch.

Garcia is my least favourite city player of all time.

Absolute garbage. Fernandinho today was miles better than de Jong or Barry has ever been. Garcia is another story although he was ok today.

Hate slating City players but .......

Fernandinho has done well enough in his role and is still adjusting . Thought he did a sterling job today at Stamford Bridge , only got him down for one sub zero performance so far this season , think it was at Cardiff .

Garcia is fucking shite ! nuff said ! cant fucking believe he was selected today ???? WTF ?????

Pisses me off to see Barry playing so well for Everton. I know he's not got many years left at the top but he'd be a far better choice in my opinion.

That is very harsh and almost certainly not true. I assume you've been a fan for more than 5 years. We've had players so bad they make Garcia look like Maradona. So many to mentipn but Creaney and Bradbury to name but two.

Your being far too hard on Ferdi, think he has done well overall.
Garcia is poor, but sure we all knew that.

Pointless to compare everyone to Alan Kernaghan.

Relative to his team mates, Garcia is the worst I've seen.

Fernaninho has done nothing to suggest he's better than Barry: I lost count of the number of shit chipped balls he played out for a goal kick today and he doesn't offer anything like the same level of protection in front of the back four or - and this was under appreciated at the time - for the full backs when they overlap and Nasri/Silva/whoever is ahead of the play.

Time will tell on him but, at the moment, we're clearly weaker.

In relation to de Jong, it's no coincidence that we've won nowt since he left.

Have to say I've been critical of Fernandhino this season, especially his diving in, but I honestly thought that was his best game by a mile.

Garcia, instead of Milner on what planet Pellers?

Milner is quicker, works harder, offers more protection and more going forward. Stamford bridge is not the place to give a player a stubborn vote of confidence!

This goes for kolo at Liverpool as well. Two players we could have used this season and would have been massive improvements on what we have seen.

Laurent Charvet.

In this current squad Garcia is probably the weakest player, apart from the academy players. That much is a given.

Fred is a different type of player to Gazbaz. Plus we dont know what the manager tasks Fred to do in games. Presumeably he is happy with his performance as he seems to play most of the time. I think his forward balls need to improve their accuracy but his harrying/mopping up has improved and will continue to do so.
I fully agree we haven't replaced DeJong though our style of play has changed from his time. We now have a greater focus on attacking now whereas under Mancini defence took priority. This seems to mean we just dont have room for a defensive midfielder in our set up. Todays game being the exception. Its up to Pellers to figure out how to get formation right but for what its worth i'd keep Fred & leave out Yaya every now and again

Think Milner must be watching Garcia and wondering what he has to do to get a game in the centre. It was his performances in the centre that led to him being such a sought after player. I know Milner ain't defensive midfielder but I think he brings so much to the team with his work rate and eye for goal he is worth more game time.

Maybe Milner has to learn how to do a proper reacharound. There is not a footballing reason why Garcia starts ahead of him

Really hits a nerve seeing Garcia picked ahead of Milner..What the hell does Pellers think he brings to the team when theirs others that do a better job?

I also thought Fernandinho had a very good game today. He is consistently good and actually getting better. I actually thought Garcia was ok today in most of what he did. Messed up a couple of times but most players do.

I still can't really fathom why he played instead of Milner.

I most have been watching a different game from the OP. I thought both players in question were two of our better players today.

but hey, We need a easy target after a defeat. Why not them.

Garcia gave away clumsy free kicks, ball watched on the 1st goal (not alone granted) ad completely stopped on a free kick leaving terry with a free chance which he just missed.

If you thought he was one of our best I'd agree you were watching a different game.

Getting rid of Barry was one of the biggest transfer mistakes we've made in recent years. We are considerably weaker without him.

Garcia is a terrible player - a huge waste of money. He should be sold as soon as possible. That's if anyone is willing to buy him. Milner should always be starting - he is excellent in almost every game he plays and must really wonder what he needs to do become a regular.

I think Fernandinho has been getting better and had another good game today. I still don't think he's worth 30m, nor will he ever be. We would have been better off keeping Barry and strengthening the defence, as we already have Milner, Rodwell, Yaya, Silva and Nasri in midfield. However, he didn't choose the price tag and I think he's gradually adjusting to the English game quite well. It's unfair to lump him together with Garcia.

Garcia didn't ball watch at all for the first , he was trying to get back from midfield. Demichaelis left his man and Joe could have at least attempted to get down to the cross.
