Toon Talk - Again

I genuinely do not know what to expect on tomorrow night. It goes without saying that I want a fabulous victory, but I have to admit to feeling a little bit aimless at the moment as far as football is concerned. Still no matter how we are feeling, spare a thought for the toon army, who it seems have given up completely. They are also coming to this game on the back of (humiliating) derby defeat.

Given their state of mind, it’s not surprising that there is not a lot of material to share with you. Still here goes, and as always, we start with the team selection:

Krul

Debuchy -- Taylor -- Coloccini -- Santon

Cabaye -- Tiote -- Anita

Ben Arfa -----------------------Remy

Cisse

My Favourite:

we turn up
we lose
pardew talks sh***
we go home
the end
who cares

And the rest...

It's very difficult to predict how this game will go, Man City look like they're still getting used to playing under Pellegrini and it was a blunder that cost them a point against Chelsea yesterday. It would depend how they approach the game, if they play a fully strength team with the likes of Toure, Silva and Aguero we could get turned over. It's a cup game, if we get it right anything can happen.

Maybe 4-4-2 would be best for this game, Krul, Debuchy, Taylor, Williamson, Santon, HBA, Cabaye, Tiote, Jonas (I think he needs to come back and put a shift in), Remy, Gouffran.

with hart struggling they may look to that tall bloke costel pantimillion... might give us half a chance.

We'll get creamed pure and simple.

Looks like it will be Pantilimon in goal for City, Hart's paying for his mistakes, though I thought with Chelsea's winning goal it was Nastasic's fault just as much for heading it over Hart and putting it on a plate for Torres

Hodgson is even thinking of replacing him with Forster for the upcoming friendly!

Souness was sacked following a poor performance against MAN CITY, so I just wonder if we do get demolished by them Pardew could be gone, probably not though but the situation at that point in 2005/06 was just as bad as the state of the club now.

3-0 City.

We'll play a weakened team with one eye on Chelsea. The club have already said in that fans forum they don't view cups as a priority compared to league position.

The changes we make will give Pardew carte blanche to peddle some more BS excuses. "We was unlucky tonight, we was robbed really. If one of those two chances go in at 0-3 in the 78th minute then it's a different game. The ref didn't help us either. As I thought it was a throw in to us, then 27 passes later they scored their second. The lads that have come in have been excellent and we've got a really strong group blah blah blah."

Their weakened team is still probably good enough to finish top 4-6. Whilst ours is relegation material.

As its us, and the way we've performed this season, I reckon we'll somehow win this, only to be knocked out in the next round by Burnley or someone.

I can't stand us at the moment.
This is one of those times that I hope we get beat 11:0 so things start to change.
But at the end of the day, I know I'll be cheering for my team and get heartbroken again.

I always feel a bit sorry for Newcastle fans.

Of course we have seen it all ourselves.

They are fine now, but when they were in the top 4, they were unbearable.

I wonder if we are now and just don't realise it.

Working in Newcastle this week, and heading back into town early because if a power cut, I tuned into the local radio sports programme. It was mainly derby recriminations or gloating from the weekend, but a little about the LC game too.

It seems Colocinni and Taylor are still out injured, and Pardew had said he will make minor alterations in midfield and attack.

All the callers thought the next two league games against Chelsea and Spurs will be the priority, although they would have preferred to 'win a cup' (even though beating us is a long way from winning as per the Burnley comment).

The fans comments were the usual mixture we hear on our radio and reflect the views on the forum. The best was a guy who came on saying they missed the two scousers, Nolan and Barton, because they showed more commitment than 'them froggies we've got now'.

Let us not forget the way the fans hounded out Bobby Robson. They also thought they were too big for Big Sam. Then got relegated after they got rid of him. He'd have kept them up imo.

Tbf, nobody should have to put up with Fat Sam.

If he'd ever been appointed City manager, I would have set fire to my season ticket.

Yeah. Cant disagree that you would not want him as your club manager. However he has got a good track record of doing well at lower level clubs which Newcastle were when he went there

Oh I agree.

I'd still rather be relegated though.

They really make our AlanBall era look like a well-run club. Local TV tonight reports three local papers have been banned from press conferences for over-reporting anti-Ashley demonstrations.

We are trying our best to win it back though with our defending.

If they pick a half decent team they have every chance against us tomorrow. I wouldn't back City with any confidence against anyone away from the Etihad this season.

Likeable football club and generally have a good sense of humour. And we seem to always beat them.
Propper football club who as others say are very similar to us in a lot of ways.

That's crazy.

You just watched us play three away games in a row with a trip to moscow in the middle and our captain missing all three... we came unstuck over one giant fuck up.

I have every confidence in this team.
