Good call - he was outstanding - I went for Sergio - but only just

That's the problem we've had with Nasri in my opinion. He's not a David Silva and there's absolutely no point in him thinking he is. He's not quite as good at flitting between the lines and playing little short passes and opening the game up as well as Silva is. He doesn't see the pitch 'quite' as well (better than most admittedly, but not as good as Silva)... What he actually is probably our most effective dribbler when he gets going. He's most effective when he decides to be direct. He can suddenly up the tempo, take out a couple of defnders and become a clear goal threat. His footwork is utterly fantastic and when he actually starts playing one twos and darting at people he skips past challenges with ease. He did it in his breakthrough season with Arsenal scoring several wonder goals and he's showed in glimpses this season that he's capable of it for us too. David Silva, as great as he is, isn't quite as good at that as Nasri is, and he's certainly not as good a finisher as Samir is either. I hope Nasri realises that and has confidence in his own game and plays to his own strengths.
Nasri's got a huge part to play in Pellegrini's City if he wants it enough. He should be encouraged to run at people when he feels like it. He's got such good feet that he rarely gives the ball away when he does it. He's that good at it - its just frustrating that he doesn't do it more often.
I'm hoping Silva and him have realised that they both can play together and not clog each other's space like they used to. They seemed to actively enjoy today fully well knowing that they were just too good technically for Norwich. They just toyed with them - it was great.
Nasri aside i also shared the view that Ferni was fantastic and Silva appears to be back to his very best and it's fucking great. He's simply wonderful on this form.
