Silva is a real pleasure to watch at the minute, a truly gifted footballer. just wondering how people would compare him to Georgi Kinkladze, though Kinky played in a vastly inferior City side.

No comparison. Silva every single time. I was never Kinkladze biggest fan. Silva isn't just skillful he also gets stuck in something you couldn't say for Kinkladze.

They're very different players.
Kinkladze was a dribbler, more like Nasri stlye.
Silva's a playmaker, like a better version of the Benarbia type player.

Kinkladze was a wasted talent. A raw diamond who never fulfilled anything close to his unbelievable potential...but that's all he was in the end. Lots of potential.

I honestly think Kinkladze had the natural skill set of someone like Messi or Iniesta....but just never learnt how to use those skills fully for various reasons. Ah well.

I think Kinkladze could have been even better than Silva, but he just never got there.

I was a big Kinkladze fan but Silva for me is a better player than Kinky was.

Silva. Good player though Kinky was not even in same league. Doubt he would even get in the matchday squad now such is the talent we have

Complete different styles. Kinky was a legend at a time when we needed it. Silva is a player who shines brightly in a team of class players.

Kinky was a top player in a poor team, and was an entertainer. I have never seen a player go past players like he could.
Silva however is a great player. A team player who sees things that others (Aguero apart) don't. There are times when he just leaves me in awe.

Gio was a greedy, lazy cunt who had more ability in his left toe than Silva, Nasri & Aguero put together.

Could have been better than Maradona but because of his attitude, not fit to lace Silva's boots.

He would just keep the ball to himself, refuse to track back & the team would down tools & cease to function until the manager fucked him off.

One of the most talented footballers I have ever seen anywhere & a total waste of space.

My opinion of him too really ^

The way he ran and moved with the ball - he was Messi before Messi even existed. Messi is the only other player i've seen who ran with a ball like him...I honestly think he could have been that good if he wanted it. He could have been talked about as one of the greatest yet he ended up a ridiculous waste of a pretty extraordinary talent.

The problem Kinky had was that he was in a team of chancers really. I remember thinking that 99% of players were just miles behind him. They couldn't see anything or didn't make the runs that he wanted them to. Or they'd spoon chances he created for them, so sadly the plan was very much 'give the ball to him' and it was kinda encouraged for him to be a one man team. If he'd have come through La Masia today i've no doubt he'd have turned into one of the greatest ever.

This clip here at this very moment summed up exactly the problems Georgi had at city....surrounded by idiots.

Not long after he had gone to Ajax I spent a very interesting hour with a couple of their fans working in a sports shop in Amsterdam while they cobbled together enough letters to adorn his name on an shirt for my son. They had heard a lot about him and had been very excited by the signing, but said he just did not deliver - couldn't (or wouldn't) adapt to a new style and once he realised he wasn't going to be an automatic choice he didn't want to know. Pity because it would have been very interesting to see him in a team which were at that time much better than City. Silva all day long for me though - my only slight criticism of him would be that he could and should score more goals, which he has actually showed signs of doing this season.

He got played at left wing back for Ajax if i recall correctly which didn't help. He also arguably stayed at City too long. He might've had a chance if he had moved on somewhere sooner. He developed the wrong attitude by being far the best player in a naff team and being an absolute idol which created this false opinion of himself in his head as some kind of demi-god who could do what he wanted.

I'd have kinky in our team over silva tomorrow and the next day and the one after that.

Kinky had a bad attitude....if silva has such a good attitude why does he only perform 5/6 times a season? He's just as bone idle as Robinho and king and most other players. I can only think of 3 players in our squad that try their best every game and 1 of them can't even get a game, the other only plays because Richards is a walking/hobbling sick note and the last is probably the best striker in the world right now.

What a crock of shit. Silva tries too much. If he'd had a fucking rest at any point in the last 4 years he'd never have slumped. Call his form by any
Means, but his effort never stops. Wonderful team player and when he is on, so are we.

Silva all day. True, Kinkladze played in a bad team, he'd pllay beautiful passes that no one read, but he disappeared if he got clogged early on, and that's not true of Silva. Now David Silva or Ali Benrbia at his best, that's a more difficult question.
