http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24866966BBC have just reported that Silva is going to be out for a month with a calf injury. I was really hoping this wouldn't keep him out. Such a shame he's been playing so well as part of MP's attacking team.
Who replaces him? Navas? or Milner?

With Aguero and Negredo up top and Yaya,Fernandinho and Nasri nailed on it's down to deciding how he wants us to play.Yaya could be allowed much more attacking freedom if Milner came in to sit with Fern but if Yaya stays deeper it's Navas. I would go for Milner but I expect Pellegrini will go for Navas

Fernandinho out too ... and so is Nasti so Garcia at CB or to partner Yaya??

brilliantly timed with the FIB
shame that he'll miss the spuds game but should mean he's raring to go for arsenal

Nothing certain and about Nasti or Fred. If both missing it's Lescott with Demechelis and Milner + Navas.Easy

I agree the timing is somewhat fortunate with the international break, and with our place in the last 16 of the CL secured. Hopefully we can get him and the others who are injured back to a fitness that can last through the christmas period. That is gonna be a big test for the title.

Thought about that but pushing Yaya forward would be my choice.

Tbh, great as he is, we should be able to play just as well without him imo; just in a slightly different way. Perhaps we can't quite, yet, but we should.

100% we should. We are blessed as fans to have the 4 we have all playing together (YT/SN/DS/SA) but if we only have 3 of them it still top quality and we should be able to beat Sunderland.I wonder what our line ups have been for the last away games v this lot as we lost them all.
To me Sunday is more about out team approach to the game as anything. It needs to be treated as the biggest game of the season. It's essential we win.

For sure we can play without Silva for a month with Milner and Navas ready to step in and Nasri playing so well now. But the timing is so unfortunate for Dave as he has just hit top form and it will take him some time to get up to speed again after returning from injury. So it might mean we will not see the same Silva for 2 months at least and not 1 month ! I hope I'm wrong.

No not at all. Call it coincidence. In most cases a calf tear is a result of another issue. It could be an weak ankle, hamstring issue, etc. It just happens that the calf takes a lot of load and that is what ultimately tears.

Why not Rodders? He seems a more natural fit for Fred's role than Milner.

Milner and navas are not the same type of players as silva. While they have their qualities they are not as good. Still we are strong enough for Sunderland, but loosing silva for the spurs game is a blow.
