FFS SHOOT

why oh why do we try to play the ball into a player in the area when the area is full, why can't our players just have a fucking shot at goal from outside the pen area. no we just go from side to side and try to be smart and score the perfect goal, now the shot might go wide, it might a defender and bounce away or the goalie might save it but have a shot outside the pen area. IT MIGHT JUST GO IN THE NET or bounce to one of our players who can score. IT ISNT HARD CITY just have a fucking go instead of trying to work the ball in the area and score the perfect goal

Unfortunately it tends to be Kolarov who does.

I would like it to be Yaya Toure.

Today Yaya shooting would have been worse than Kolarov imo Ted.I thought Yaya was very poor today and that's putting it mildly.

Me too.

Aguero was garbage though.

I could honestly list at least 6 players who were very bad.

They weren't asked to play out of position or in a role they weren't comfortable in, so why the manager is taking so much flack for this particular game I just don't get.

we do....
the stats show that we've had 75 attempts on goal in our 4 away defeats this season
16 - cardiff
20 - villa
15 - chelsea
24 - sunderland
add to that an average of c60% possession in all 4 games (chelsea was only 54%)

ffs defend is more to the point

Yaya was back close to his worst again today after some great performances recently. But I would still like to see him take a few shots, even on a bad day.

Well, when Edin came on it was the first thing he did. Kola was damn unlucky too, a little later.

Kun scored a cracking left footer at Chelsea.

When teams pack the box with 10 defenders it's very difficult to get a shot off.

The angles aren't always right to shoot, easier to close a player down. We need to run at the defense more, than just pussyfoot around.

it might be, but how many was from outside the pen area, I can only think of three and only 1 needed to be saved

75 attempts and 5 goals. Pretty poor return IMO

Got to agree.
In fact, this was problem last year but this season we have been taking shots from outside the penalty box when opposition has stuffed it after going up.

We've tried crosses and shots and have NOT tried to pass the ball to the net. Our defending and especially the concentration is the problem. Oh, and the fact that no one else but Silva can unlock the tightest of defences.

yesterday showed how valuable fernandinho is to the way we play. as much as we admire milner's workrate, he just cannot do the same job as fernandinho.
