Are Our English Players Being Unfairly Treated ?

Simple question, the likes of Garcia starting ahead off our English players like Rodwell,we have seen him start ahead of Milner regardless off how shit he is, he was even chosen to play in the back 4 ahead off Lescott, we kept him and moved on Barry a reliable Englishman and much MUCH better player than Garcia. We also have players like Ya Ya who appears to be un-subable no matter how consistently poor he plays, it does look like preferential treatment towards foreigners from the outside

We are being slated in some quarters for fielding sides devoid off one single Englishman.

Personally I can see trouble ahead with a bench full off English players and a sympathetic English media ear waiting to listen to all their grievances and print stories about us undermining England's World Cup chances. Already there are rumors off a couple off players who are going to try and force a move in January because off the World Cup. Does it not also risk causing divisions in our squad

I agree Milner and Rodwell.

Does Pellegrini really hand on heart really think Garcia is a better option to play in the midfield position ahead off these 2 players ?

If i were Milner or Rodwell i would feel genuinely aggrieved at Garcia getting the nod over me.In fact a youth player would be a much better option.

It is my biggest gripe with him so far,not picking our best players.

Not really interested in whether a player is english or not. It's all about ability. The difficulty we have at the moment is our best team doesn't have an englishman apart from Joe.I don't think he is or has been unfairly treated and I expect him back in the team soon all the stronger for being left out of a few games. (Panti I guess will be angry as hell and will leave shortly if it does happen without him making major mistakes.)

Lescott I do believe has been unlucky not to play more instead of Nasti.Nasti may well be the future but he should be learning as an understudy and the not the front line man.
Milner is unlucky as we have a top class 6 players in our best team who play when fit.His role to fill in for one of them or when we don't play 2 strikers (assuming he gets the nod before Navas) is fine but it does often mean he plays out of his best position which we all know is central.
Rodwell is very unlucky not just with his fitness but probably more that his game really doesn't fit the way we play.He is actually more of a box to box midfielder like Yaya in many ways but he lacks the ability to control a game as his touch and awareness is not good enough.Maybe he could make a holding midfielder but we don't really know.

In a nutshell.

Ii would suggest Milner,Rodwell,Barry have more ability in their big toe than Garcia, and i am being kind.

Hart - no
- He's played poorly this season and needs a break from first-team action. Pantilimon deserves his run in the team.

Micah - no
- He's coming back from a long-term injury and is being eased back in. Him and Zab will rotate but they'll both get plenty of games this season.

Lescott - yes
- He's our best centre back after Vinnie and it's a travesty he's being marginalised in favour of poor players such as Nastasic and Garcia.

Milner - yes
- He was our best player along with Zab last season, although the performances of Nasri have increased competition in midfield. He's looked liked he's been trying too hard on occasions this season, most likely due to less match time. Again, he's far superior to Garcia.

Rodwell - yes
- With the signing of Fernandinho, he will see limited first team action which is a shame. He's struggled with injuries, but when he's played he looks very promising. Despite Fernandinho settling into life in the Premier League, we did not need to spend £30m on him and would have been just fine with Milner, Rodwell and Barry to compete for the centre mid spot.

Barry - yes
- I've written it plenty of times but getting rid of him was a monumental fuck-up. Both Pellegrini and the Spaniards have to take the blame for this. They have failed to appreciate what he brought to our side and we have paid the price massively this season. At the end of the season, if we're looking back at a disappointing trophy haul, then the decision to let Barry go will have been one of the major reasons.

hart - no! if anything it's pantilimon who was treated unfairly while joe continued to get games in spite of howlers!!

micah - no. injured; been generally shit when played.

lescott - perhaps. deffo should start ahead of garcia but maybe he's been poor in training, not grasping the tactics, etc?

milner - no. not good enough to start in centre MF, piss poor on the wing.

rodwell - no. injured; not good enough for our style of play. fucking laughable to compare him to fernandinho.

barry - no. get over it.

Rodwell has been injured & stank v Newcastle, needs more time, Micah has been injured.

Lescott should be starting every big game, Milner should be playing regularly next to/instead of Fernandinho or Yaya depending on the oppo.

Barry should still be at the club, in place of Garcia.

I don't really have a problem with the English players not playing so to speak as the team are City players in my eyes, but I do feel it is to the detriment of our team, especially away from home. I've noticed lately that we do seem to play an increasing number of Spanish/Hispanic speaking players, especially going forward. And who can blame him, some of them are sublime players and within the comfort of the Etihad. They play to their full potential, most of the time.

Where it hurts, I think, is away from home and that hostile spirit that you get in the PL. Asking players to come in and make an impact, who haven't really had game time, negates what they have to offer. Our English contingent know what the tight spaced, explosive atmospheres are all about but at the same time can you expect them to be 100% when they get 1 game in 3 or 4?

Maybe not at present but potentially he could be a better player.Rodwell has the ability but it seems he can hardly stay fit long enough to play back to back games. If he was even half fit i'd have him playing ahead of Garcia. How he gets in midfield ahead of Milner and Rodwell is just nonsense on Pelligrinis behalf. When will the penny finally drop with Pelligrini?

That is a very good point you make mate.

It is alright foreign players playing at home in front off a partisan crowd, playing away is a whole different ball game.we need horses for courses so to speak.

Ya Ya Toure has himself admitted he struggles to get him self in the right mind set for the smaller games,It is no coincidence that when he plays like dog shit the whole side plays poor because everything goes through him in the middle.

Maybe the way forward would be a better mix in the team on our travels.
