the January sales are looming

With Christmas nearly upon us,(merry Christmas to one and all), the thing that follows is much anticipated but often falls flat. No, not new years eve but the January transfer window.
Who we are linked with, who we need, who we want and who we get are not necessarily the same player.
Which of the above do folks want, think we need & will actually get, if any?
To kick off
I think we need a centre back. Mangala from Porto is one we are linked with. I would like Hummels but i think we wont actually get one.
I also think we need a left back. The lad Shaw from Saints is worth a punt. Or Coentrau from Madrid.Clichy & Kola for me are too prone to really poor games which cost us too often.
If we were to get in re-enforcements a couple of players would probably leave. Clichy for me ahead of Kola as Kola is better offensively. Sad to say but if we do get a top quality centre back in then Lescott will go. I like him but Pellegrini doesnt it seems. Against the grain possibly i'd also keep Garcia. He is not a bad player but just hasn't adapted well enough yet. That said if there is no improvement ship him out in summer. I'd also keep Dzeko as he is a good striker who scores goals regularly. Selling him would weaken our squad. However a trade with Suarez would change that opinion. Much as he is a cunt if we did sign him the Prem is ours and a cup or two becomes more likely. Suspect he would be an unpopular choice but the glory of trophies is a worthwhile balance for me

Extra centre half - of top quality. Maybe a new keeper if we could make the right signing. A replacement for Dzonkey who should be flogged IMO.

Last summer I thought we needed two new centre-backs and desperately wanted Neven Subotic to be one of them. However, since then, I've now done a complete 'U' turn.
Forget all this talk about goalkeepers and defenders; what we need are some more forwards. Dzeko could well be on his way in January, Jovetic is still an unknown quantity fitness-wise and we don't yet know the extent of Aguero's current injury.
Moreover, Guidetti seems out of consideration and if anything were to happen to Negredo (heaven forfend), then we would have some real problems in outscoring the opposition.
So, for me, the defence can take care of itself; it's more forwards that we need - the more the merrier in my book.

I think we might not bring anyone. Our last big transfer in january was Dzeko. I would bring a center half, but which one? Pepe, hell no.
Ed will be out in the summer after Lewadonski goes to Bayern.

I'm not expecting many changes in January, unless a really stunning oopoyunity occurs.

It's hard to see how we could sign a top quality centre back in jan that would come in and be instantly and considerably better that lescott, nasti or the long haired one.

Ibrahimovic is going to be well pissed off with the latest 75% French tax rate so I wouldn't mind him in and Edin out in Jan.
We do need a world class centre back though unlikely we'll get one in Jan.

The future of Manchester City striker John Guidetti could become clearer later today with Stoke City and West Ham United keen.[/highlight]
The 21-year-old is in demand after battling back to fitness following injury and a debilitating virus. He scored 20 goals in 23 games while with Feyenoord in 2011-12 and a queue of clubs, including Malaga, Real Betis and Lazio are among clubs those keen to take him on loan.

However, City and his representatives want him to realise his potential in England and are talking to Stoke City and West Ham about a deal until the end of the season.
Both clubs are keen to explore options in the loan market and Guidetti could prove great value if he recaptures the form he showed in Holland.
City are reluctant to let other players leave in January with Jack Rodwell, Javi Garcia and Joleon Lescott all subject to interest at home and abroad. Striker Edin Dzeko is wanted by both Milan clubs and Valencia among many others and if anyone bids £25million then City may yet contemplate a deal but a summer exit is more likely.

I'd prefer to see him on loan to Stoke, with Ireland there and Hughes it would be a better prospect than sending down to BFS.
Its what has been said all along - he needs to do this to learn how to ply his trade in the PL and he needs to make a success out if it to prove he's got what it takes.
In the short term (if this doesn't come off) it would be nice to see him get a run out against Blackburn.

Love it if someone asked Gollum why he bought Fellaini when he could have had Barkley for less money given he should have known what Barkley was about having managed him through the ranks. Just to see the fucker squirm

I didn't think we'd sign anyone but if MP's comments are true that we might add a player, then I do think it could be a left back, cos I dont think he rates Clichy or Kolarov that highly.
