Pellegrini and 'the squad'

Just lately I've got the feeling that he is making everyone around the club feel part of the squad, and therefore feeling part of our attempt to win multiple trophies. He must have had reservations about Dedryck but even he got a good run and performed well.

Rodwell and Jovetic have spent most of the time on the couch but just about everyone else has been asked to get out there and do a good job at some point.

We have heard about the boss's personable style and I personally am starting to feel the difference between the Mancini 'favourites and cold-shouldered' style and this one. Pelle talks about all playing the exact same style whoever comes in and plays.

That together with shipping out the likes of Mad Mario and Tevez.

Anyone else getting this feeling or ...........

Nope, far too positive - the manager should apparently be publicly flogged in the town square for daring to pick Zabaleta last night.

The fact that he rested 7 other first choices is irrelevant, and that so many in our squad have played a part is also mere details.

On a more serious note I get the point; I still think Jovetic will have a part to play to if he can ever stay fit/well/on the field for longer than a week.

How I miss those days ;-)

Pellers lloks like a straight laced type of guy who will talk to the players, understand their concerns and try to put them right. What he won't do will massage their ego's and let them do the talking on the pitch. That's the type of bloke I like and will always get the most out of the majority of the players.

My only minor issue is how we are still not seeing any of the academy given a chance, although I do understand why. A lot of Blues are of the belief that the holistic approach meant we'd see much more of the academy coming through, even if it was for just a 10 minute cameo at the end of a game.

Can Pellers afford to bring the academy players through at this stage of his tenure? Personnally, I don't think he could. Once he's established fully and totally understands the ins and outs of the 1st team, then I feel we will start seeing a change in philosophy. The academy players will start to be looked at and possibly get a chance of promotion. Until then though, Pellers will continue to play what he feels can win us games.

The academy players will play when they are either considered match fit enough or good enough to do the job required on any given day.

Pellegrini is doing better than any of the characters currently in top jobs in the Prem, & is considerably better than Mancini imo, but I doubt he will keep everyone happy.

It's probably best that one or two players move in & out of the club anyway though. Keeps things fresh.

I think Tevez was a great player for City & he looks great now for Juve, but we don't miss him as I thought we would, & as for Balotelli, I now just wonder what the fuck we were doing with him at the club. Negredo is twice the player Balotelli was.

Pellers knows of my bet with OD and wants me to win it.

The academy players will start making appearances after May 2016.

Well, our academy must be doing well to not even get a spot on an empty seat. Correct me if I'm wrong but I can only remember Lopez getting a run-out from our current crop which says that none of the rest are upto standard. If they can't grab an empty seat in the League Cup where will they get the chance.

As for Mancini/Pellers, there's no real need to pit both against each other. Horses for courses and all that with one winning us trophies and the other I have big hopes for. Hughes laid the foundations, Mancini built up the walls. The furnishings are already in place and Pellers is now thatching the roof for many years of happy living. Different living, different times, but it's turning out nice again.

As for doing the best job, he could be but it's arguable that the top of the league is doing the best job, and those above us. The only difference is we're still in all cups while they have dropped out of the lesser. He'll do for me though, especially if we keep up our current form. Would I change him for any other manager in the league? Would I fuck.

I'd tend to agree with a few getting a look in next season to lauch the opening of the academy. After that we should start to see a churning out of all those talented youngsters that we are currently buying up.

Good days ahead.

PS. What was the bet?

And if that's the case, they should be getting that spare seat on the bench. The only reason they aren't getting a chance is because the manager hasn't had enough time, as yet, to get fully immersed in the academy set-up. I'd suggest he's a very busy man at the moment and the academy is on the backburner waiting to fire up.

He said that the City academy would produce more 1st team players than Cassell did in the same time.

Mmmmmm, not sure about that. Jim did a grand job but we're playing at a completely different level now. I can see quite a few getting a run-out but to have them come through to be first team regulars will be a big ask, especially with our current standing.

We'll see though, that's definately a win/win bet. If they don't come through then you've won your bet, if they do come through then you won't mind losing.

Or because he thought Jovetic would be playing.

Is getting a tune out of the squad, Nasri is what he was before we signed him Class. Pellers is the calm manager we needed.

Possibly, just like he thought he'd be playing for the season so far.

Seems we don't do contingencies or is that Pellers just can't Count (do some still really call him that?)? Whoops, sorry, we know he can't.

I actually think that Nasri's playing better under Pellers than he ever did under Wenger. He's become more consistent also.

Perhaps I should get to Carrington tomorrow and report on a major bust up even if nothing happened. I have no doubt if something did happen I would be quickly approached by security and warned off saying anything.I was when Rodders picked up his last injury during a training session.
