What Away Hoodoo?

Right, so if you look at the Premier League games alone, yes we have won 8/8 at home, but in 8 away games, we have only won 2, while drawing the other 2 and losing an unbelievable 4 ...

But then that's not the only games we have played ... remember Bayern coming Home and beating us ... and us winning Away at theirs ... so if you add ALL competitive games played this season (which will add Champions League and the Capital One Cup ties), then the figures read as follows:

HOME
Total Played: 12
Won: 11
Drawn: 0
Lost: 1

AWAY
Total Played: 13
Won: 7
Drawn: 2
Lost: 4

Now it doesn't look so bad, and really, what away form? We keep banging on and on here about the scum media with an anti-City agenda ... and then some of us perhaps have bought into what they have been saying about the dire state of our affairs away from Etihad. Played 13 and won 7 (didn't lose in 9), ain't that bad now is it? Yes, yes, the CapitalOne Cup is different but really Champions League games weren't any easier than the weekly Premier League games, now were they? Same players played, same manager, even used same style ... so I say fuck 'em all out there spreading fear and let's roll the next boys over ... especially since that right testicle of Fergie's has taken charge there ...

Team Prediction

Injuries (especially to Kun and Zaba) make it impossible to predict the lineup ... but here's the most likely one for this Saturday:

Panti
Boyata - Komps - Demi - Clichy
Yaya - Fredy
Navas - Nasri - Silva
Beast

The gaffer will change it during the match with possibly introducing Dzonkey, Jovo or Milner depending on how the game goes but looking at his previous team selections, he'll most likely use the pace of Navas from the get go and attack ...

Score Prediction

Fulham 0 - 2 City

Can't remember when we scored less than 3/4 goals in a game (Saints game was a rare exception in that run) ... so initially predicted that 3 for us minimum, but then I guess have to take into account Kun's absence ... and that will be felt!

I would go with that team too but I have a feeling Hart may be brought back in.

That's crazy because it's live over here in America. Would be very very strange to see an NBA or NFL game only shown live in Europe...

Always the case with Saturday at 3pm games, these are seen as the games that fans are most likely to go to so they are protected from live TV. Not sure that will last forever though.

I guess it makes sense because of a relatively higher amount of teams per person but still strange to see

The only time I went to Fulham we lost 5-1 and the City crowd ended up watching some amateur game behind the ground that you could see from the stand.

I think we will win this one, but perhaps a closer game than might be expected, 2-1.

Any one seen Lawro's predictions for his weekend? ... BBC's guest is none other than the PM, David Cameron ... and who looks like had a good laugh at the Scum by predicting a home loss for them to West Ham, LOL.

He's on Football Focus tomorrow at 12pm.

Didn't sky used to offer a 'season ticket' and you could choose to watch the 3pm matches? Or have I made that rubbish up??

Can't believe I missed that. You say that some are banging on about it but I think that's far from the truth. Earlier in the season some were banging on about it and with every right, most were concerned at the very least. Lately, a lot are banging on that the media have continued to keep the same line even though we've 3 won and drawn 1 in our last 4 aways.

However, the issue is still there that in our first 8 games we've only won 2 and drawn 2, losing 4 on the road. That's now budging up to a point a game and hopefully the Fulham game will push that up further.

This is only a slight point but a point nonetheless.

You might well be right SSB but I have a line of logic that suggest that will only happen if Costel's injured. He's been solid, our defenders are starting to trust their keeper again, our results have reflected that and Joe's done nothing particularly spectacular when he's turned out with our (excellent) second string - even if he has looked to be getting on top of his keystone cops moments.
Last thing we need is our recovering away league form to be trashed by some more Hart clangers eh?
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

I'm not suggesting Hart should be brought back in because we need steady goalkeeping right now as u say. I just have a feeling he has been given the nod regardless of whether I think it right or wrong

Off to watch Bolton v Charlton tomorrow with the all exclusive package. Chicken in a basket and a pint of bitter, that's has good as it gets ;-)

Birthday party later so will miss the game and MotD so will miss the match but will enjoy the re-run in the match thread.

Confident of a win, 3-1 I reckon, so should be a good day apart from the Scousers spanking Cardiff.

I think we'll see Cliche on the right with Milner in front of him to provide cover.

Navas would be great against Fulham and would scare their defence rigid with his pace but I suspect we 'll opt to start a bit safer.
