Man Of The Match v Palace

Close today with no real stand-out performers. I thought Fern played well until he went off, Dave put in a shift and half and Dedryk and Navas worked well on the right. However, I'm going for big Joe who stood up to their attack and took one in the eye for his troubles.

Fernandinho looked the most likeliest to score, he was a handful - so I gave it to him. I thought Boyata had a good match too, without being spectacular.

Has to be Hart ... without his saves we'd have been 2/3 down even before we scored and possibly another 2/3 great saves by him after we had scored ...

Fernandinho probably but I voted for Hart, its so good seeing him come back and looking safe again. That and with the kick to the face he took my vote seems a fair reward 8)

Navas for me.
The small things like tackling back late in the game winning the ball back. Did his job right.

Ferna.
I have no idea why he was taken off. Although I'm presuming it was because Yaya was going to come on a bit later.
He is the complete midfielder. Great technique on the ball and I think the more opportunities he gets to play further up the pitch, the more we will benefit. Saying that, with Yaya in the side that's unlikely to happen until maybe late in the game.
What a buy he has turned out to be.

Thought Fernie was outstanding and our biggest goal threat. I know we won, but not really sure why he was brought off when he was looking most likely to score.
Anyway 3 points, not pretty but I'll take them.

Really pleased for Joe today. Long periods with nothing to do, but when called on he made some brilliant saves, including the one in the first half where he got that eye injury.
Back to his best and sure to instill some confidence in those in front of him.
Ferna was quality before he went off - agree with those that have given him a mention.

Boyata really ??
He did good considering he is young and center back is his more natural position but definitely no MOM performance, decent through ball to silva and a couple of decent defending. With the kind of parking done by Palace, Zaba would have been so far up the pitch tearing up their defences. He has to offer more going forward too, to become a decent player.
But clichy in his place and Kolorov on left back we would have been up by half time and score line would have very different.
Decent chances for Ferna, Milner and Dzeko but bringing in Nasri he looked more active in Ferna position.
Voted for Hart

Would have gone for Ferni had he stayed on a little longer as he was all over the pitch working his arse off. However have opted for Hart as couple top saves and carried on playing with his fucked eye.

Went for Hart as he made some very good saves.
Didn't really think any of our midfield and forwards did enough to warrant MOTM although Fernandinho was probably our best performer there. Also thought Boyata did well.

Except for these 3 :)
Joe hands down today.Quality saves and very brave when needed too. Made up for him and his return to the team.
Whilst Fernandinho did play well it was a nearly performance for me.Vinnie would have been closest for me to MotM and a few others did ok but in a limited way.I would even have Garcia in that bracket for his negative role in front of the back 4 but on the ball he is so useless it's embarrassing.
