We are on course not to just beat the record goals scored in a premier League season, but absolutely destroy it.

We have already scored 57 goals in 20 Premier League games.

Carry on with a similar scoring ratio per game, then we will score in the region off 108 Premier League goals. That will be some record achievement, given some off the top sides that have graced a football pitch in the Premier League over the years.

Chelsea scored 103 goals 2010,Scum scored 80 goals in their title winning years 1994,and 2008.Blackburn also scored 80 goals in their title winning year 1995

The omens are good.

The current top 4 goals scored in the Premier League all won the Title.

We smash that record and win the title it will be a long time before it is ever beaten. This current City side could be going in to the history books. We really could be watching history in the making. How privileged are we ?

Come on City get it done !!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be honest we'll do well to top the 89-point haul of 2011/12.

We are just over halfway into the season with plenty of difficult fixtures to come so nothing should be taken for granted ........ we have won fuck all ! Just 80 points could win the title this season if it stays as tight as it has been so it isnt for the faint hearted and certainly not worth gloating about .......... yet !

February / March = crunch time .

Nothing wrong with a bit off positivity when we are scoring for fun and playing well.We are quick to moan when we are playing bad.

Very true but a lot can go wrong if key players get injured or a couple of decisions go against us etc etc .It might be the "old" city in me but heyho lets just enjoy the ride .

I think it will take a lot less to win it this year. Maybe 83-85. Lowest winning total was rags with 75 I think.

March 29 Arsenal (A)
April 5 Southampton (H)
April 12 Liverpool (A)
April 19 West Brom (H)
April 26 Crystal Palace (A)
May 3 Everton (A)
May 11 West Ham United (H)

We should know if we've won the title by the 29th of March, we have three tough away fixtures in the last seven games and if we're leading by 9 points I'd say we've won.

That list just shows the folly of speculation about a quadruple (thread cross-over alert). It has never been won by a British club, and trebles are rare, because they are bloody hard to win. If City got through to the later stages of all competitions, then you would add these to those above:

April – home and away Champions League QF, FA Cup SF, home and away Champions League SF
May – FA Cup semi-Final, Champions League Final
Plus: Premier League games rearranged to fit in the above, the FA Cup QF, and the League Cup Final and any FA Cup replays, plus extra-time/penalties if required

All these extra games are likely to be against top quality opposition, so offering little scope to use squad members or kids.
Someone mentioned the downfall of the mighty Leeds in another thread, and the one that stands out for me is Bobby Robson’s Ipswich in 1980-1. They were the best English team that year for me, and at one stage had a good chance in the League, Cup and UEFA cup, but ended up only winning the latter because their small squad could not cope. That is about the only year I am convinced the best team did not win the league.

So I will be happy to wrap up the LC before the fixtures stack up, and add the PL.

I still think that its gonna be tough with the away fixtures we have but hopefully we can offset the away losses so far by getting 100% at home.

Lets win something again and take it from there.

The rest of the country waiting for us to fail.
