A very comfortable 4-0 win.
Fran Kirby and whoever was her co-commentator striking a huge blow for gender equality by talking as much shite as the men do.
It did make me laugh how City have the same sponsor as the men on their shirts, scousepool have Avon.

Ha ha, well said. If it wasn't for the fact you could see the match you'd think from hearing their commentary that Liverpool were desperately unlucky!

That counts as a really good win today cos we didn't play well at all. One of those good old bobbly pitches that levels things out and Birmingnam are quite a well organised side with some good athletes. After taking quite an early lead when Nadim latched onto a half save by their keeper it appeared for a while that it might be a fairly easy game. But after Lawley had a great chance saved it all started to go wrong.

Long balls were the key to it.Into a bit of a wind they were holding up and our back line , apart from Demi Stokes , are pretty slow. On such ball caught us out and their England ran on , past the keeper to score. For maybe 30 minutes , including the start of the 2nd half they pressed with real energy and just kept winning balls and pressing us back. We kept trying to play but, under pressure , our first touch or pass wasn't good enough.

Gradually the message got through , or they started to tire, and we started to dominate again. It still took till extra time for the 2nd goal when Emslie, instead of trying to beat the full back, laid a ball inside to Stanway who just turned inside the defender and smashed it home. Relief , even tho Brum were not threatening as I didn't fancy pens. The last goal , a gem from a breakaway by Emslie was just the icing on the cake.

After a disappointing defeat during the week the women are currently behind 0-1v Chelsea. Need to win this one.

2-2 finished. Great fight back and decent result without Stef. Lucy Bronze is such a big miss this season. Chelsea now top.

Decent result. Decision-making from both teams is very poor. sometimes a simple pass is all it takes and the girls struggle to see that hopefully that will improve with time.

Well , we were definitely second best virtually all the game and did really well to get a draw. If I was a Chelsea fan I would be gutted. I was very confused at the team selection to see both Lawley and Emsley ( both quick wide players) on the bench and Spetsmark ( never seen her before) starting I think her first game.

Steph Houghton is such a massive miss at the back. She reads the game well , organises well and is quick. Without her we just look wide open and the lack of pace really does stand out.Defenders tens ro sit a bit deep fearing a long ball so that when strikers drop short they get easy possession and find it easy to press us back.

At the other end our movement isnt great and nothing seems to stick especially with Nadia Nadim. The ball was just coming back at us and the midfield when they get it is under pressure with little up front to aim for. 2 down at half time was as good as we could have hoped.

Fair play to them in the 2nd half to stick at it and get a draw through a great cross from Stokes and a perfect header from Parris. Then Stanway, on for Christiansen scored wirh a screamer from the edge of the box. Still how Chelsea didn't score again is beyond me. In one attack alone they had 3 or 4 clear chances which somehow were blocked. Plus a couple of very good saves from Ellie Roebuck.

One good thing late on was the introduction of Jane Ross for Nadim. Suddenly a long ball found someone who could hold it up and make things ( almost) happen.

They're playing tonight at 1900 hrs in the CL against a top Swedish team called Linkoping. Anybody know if it's being televised or, if somebody is going, can we get updates?

BBC 5 live sports extra commentary apparently, but for both the City and Chelsea games so I don't know how that is going to work.
