Lescott

Lescott

Joleon Lescott has been rather improbably linked with a move to West Ham in tomorrow's papers...

You guys think there's any chance of this being true?

I've been in a coma for a week - how did we get on mid-week btw?

Yes (If we have a replacement for him)and yes he played ok against the worse team we have ever faced at our ground.

So, its true we're linked with him, but perhaps unlikely he'd fancy the move?

We'll do you in the second leg.

With all due respect mate and don't get me wrong I really am fond of West Ham but I can't see the sense in him moving to you guys this window. We are still in 4 competitions and have plenty of games to play so he will get his chances.

He's still imo our second best centre back but because he doesn't try ridiculous, risky passes and just plays it simple instead he gets slated by our own fans.

Cheers.

I have to say that I dismissed the story on first reading it. I can't see the attraction of my club to him either, tbh.

He really is a very good defender. You can have nastasic though if you want!

From what I've read, I see a move to West Ham as a likely scenario.

Pellegrini doesn't seem to rate him, and it makes sense for him to go somewhere where he would be starting every week.

I have a soft spot for the Hammers and lots of friends who are fans so this is not meant negatively - but I cannot see why he would consider it.

If he just sticks with us and plays the games that the manager selects him for he will likely end up the season with a League Title and a cup winners medal. Frustrated as he might be that would seem to be preferable than joining a relegation fight? A fight that I sincerely hope you win

Ideal match. If we are lining up this Mangala fella or someone then Jolene may well be off. The club will sell because they would get a small fee. And Jolene would be off because they seem daft enough to pay him 90 grand a week on a longish contract.

Wouldn't have thought he'll get another offer like that in June.

Not sure why Lescott would want to go head first into a relegation battle with West Ham having tasted glory at the top but his time is up and he will go if not this month at the end of the season.

Well he already qualifies for a league medal should we win it, so there is that.

However would he want to sit on the bench for 6 months before the world cup.

Lescott would be a fantastic signing for West Ham, but he is miles better than most of the defenders in the top 6 (including ours), so unless they have all bought into the lack of respect he gets from City, I would imagine there will be offers from some of them for the summer, perhaps on a reduced wage. Depends if he fancies a go at the top end, or prefers the financial offer.

If we have a replacement lined up, then of course we will try to get Lescott to West Ham, but I would be surprised if he goes.

Our kid reckons he'll be there by the end of the month, so I can't see him going till the summer.

If I was him I certainly wouldn't go anywhere at this stage.

I find it difficult to believe we're considering this, unless we have a replacement lined up (which I doubt).

If I were him, I'd go on loan to West Ham.

Playing regularly will see him have a crack at the England squad for what is sure to be his last chance to play in the World Cup finals. If he passed that up, he'd regret it for the rest of his life. He may not make the squad, but he has no chance at all the way things are now.

That said, I don't think City will let him go.

should be playing today.

walmai - basically if you get him you should be chuffed, as most city fans think he should be playing every week above nasti and demicheles.

We would be throwing away any chances of the title if we let him go anywhere.
