Apparently going on loan as it seem Hughes rates him. It doesn't seem we'll ever see him playing for the first team.

Perhaps not this season but this is what be needs to prove himself at premiership level. Just hope he keeps fit and gets a chance to show what he can do - and its good enough!

I guess you're right as at least he will get playing time at Stoke and we get to see what he can do. Even Ireland seems to be having a relatively good time there and Hughes now wants to sign him permanently.

But there must be a reason why we won't see him in the first team, maybe just maybe he is not good enough.

maybe - just maybe - Guidetti is a good player, but we have 3 healthy and better ones in front of him. No shame in recovering from injury or not being world class.

He can still be good enough to have a solid career playing in the PL or similar league. Or if he takes steps up to the next level (after almost a year out), maybe he can be a Dzeko like player for us next year if someone moves on...

I would have thought Hughes is absolutley the perfect person for Guidetti to learn from. Similar strengths and weaknesses as a player, but nowhere near as good, yet.

If Hughes can't get him to be worth a game in the Prem, then he's probably not good enough as a player, but if he can teach him to hold the ball up, be involved in play & get stuck in like he used to do, allied to Guidetti's eye for a goal, then we could have yet another defender's nightmare variation for our strikeforce next season.

Never waited someone to leave city so eagerly ever after, transfer windows are all about players coming in. This one is solely about Guidetti moving out and seeing him play in prem.

Thought it was Monday, when are they are announce loan deal.

Can we have him play against Blackburn before he leaves.

This. But you know it's long since been anathema to say anything about Hughes which resembles objectivity. I happen to think he's doing an alright job at Stoke. They've had some good performances in the league coupled with a slight improvement on last year's league position. It's all about managers finding the right clubs. In hindsight, the City job was probably too big too soon for Hughes. He then went to Fulham, did a fine job, made a dick of himself and then left. QPR was a disaster but now he's doing pretty well at Stoke. Add in the jobs he did for Blackburn and Wales and he doesn't quite seem the joke of a manager that some people would have you believe. QPR was probably the ego-deflating reality check that he needed (unless he suddenly decides Stoke are beneath him, in which case I'll stand corrected). If he can pick up two players like Vinny and Zabba for them at a combined £12 million, we'll know that his speciality as a manager is improving lower-mid table teams.

Really hope this happens. Rarely seen a striker as confident in his own ability like Guidetti, time to start backing it up lad.

Hughes will be good for him.

I don't know whether Hughes is a good coach for developing players just because he was a good striker himself. Mancini didn't seem to make much out of Balotelli or Dzeko for example. Regardless though, Hughes's City scored some absolute beautys. I couldn't take it in at the time because I just didn't like him but I have to give it to him in hindsight; when our attack clicked it really clicked. If he can get Stoke going to that effect Guidetti will be in a good environment to develop his game, no doubt.

This is an ideal loan for us - he could show his ability in the same league we want him to play in, giving us a new option for next season. If he doesn't, his value in Spain or Holland will hardly have been harmed.

If he wants to win games with him in the team then definitely yes.

Would be good to see Guidetti actually play. The lad needs games and clearly he isn't going to get them at City at the moment.
