End product

I just looked it up in the dictionary and there was a picture of Navas and Kolarov smiling back at me.

These two are on a different planet when it comes to crosses.
Fucking class.

Does anyone come close?

I think we've scored more goals off crosses this season than we have in the previous two.
Two of the best crossers of the ball out there.
However, I don't like Kolarov at left wing. His game is all about overlapping and hitting in early crosses. He's nowhere near as good when he gets the ball when he's standing still.

exactly. and a special mention for all of those countless overlapping runs he has made this season. even if the pass doesn't come his way it opens a bit of space for likes of Merlin

What's absurd with Kolarov though is that he runs with the ball, looks up and then shoots the ball at someones head. He doesn't cross the ball. He shoots. It's amazing to see really.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

It is a classic!!

How we are reaping the rewards now of having two players who seem to be getting better with each game they play, out on the flanks and able to deliver great quality balls that the strikers - Dzeko especially - can live off for life!

Makes a huge improvement from only being able to pass it around through the middle of the park for 70 mins

Well you can call his crosses passes if you want but it doesn't take away the fact that he crosses harder than most of us will ever be able to shoot. And it hits people's heads. When they nod it in.

To be fair to Kola I think that's a good strategy. If you smash the crosses in hard, of course our players might miss them but also will the opposition defenders. Its potentially easier for a striker to get a connection or a flick on the ball too compared to having to generate pace if the ball is floated in.

We do very very well at getting to the byline and cutting the ball back, and we do it so much I'm suprised teams haven't found a way to stop us yet. Also I'm suprised that other teams don't seem to copy that idea much, maybe they don't have the confidence to get their fullbacks that far forward unlike what we do.

I think it's hard to defend against because the full backs over lap so you are effectively defending against 2 wingers, and if you leave yourselves short in the middle then any one of our midfield (except Garcia) will be a threat from the edge of the area.
