Thought he had a great game today and was a contender for Man Of The Match.
A lot of people seemed to decide that he is crap on the back of his performances in defence, which was unfair. However I think he is starting to show why why we bought him.

Can both Pellers and the Spanish manager both be so wrong? Maybe once he adjusts to pace of Prem he might just surprise us

Agree, he hardly put a foot wrong, mopped up nicely & calmly. Long may it continue.

Pellers obviously sees something in him and he's very slowly starting to show it. Still think he's not a patch on Barry but it doesn't seem to be affecting our results.

Was shocking and lazy for their first goal when he failed to track Gunnarsson, but was superb after that.

He has played well recently. I am one the anti garcia brigade but if he continues to perform he will be ok. He is no fernandinho though.

It's not an anti-Garcia brigade. He was shit in both midfield and defence for a long while and has played well recently and people have been saying how he's been playing well. So you're hardly some sort of oracle on high telling us "I told you so", nor are you the first to praise his play today, check the game thread.

He played like that all the time for Benfica. That's why we signed him.
Looked like a Premier league player today & was pretty good tother day.
Utter shite most days but perhaps he's learning ?

I thought he played well and am really pleased for him. He is useful back up at the moment in this type of game. He will play presumably against WHU and Watford but he is no Fern. I would nt let him anywhere near Barca and that goes for Demichelis too

Hes major problem is lack of pace but hes getting better at reading play. But that will not be good enough against Barcelona.Today great 70 min maybe the best since he was here.

I never bother to read the game thread for a game I have been to, I don't see the point.
I have been one of Garcia's critics so have no reason to tell anybody 'I told you so' I just think his reputation of being a bit rubbish was earned mainly when he filled in at the back for us, which would be a bit harsh.

Played well today and made a couple of timely interventions.
Not as good as Barry mind.
I think not having a fit Rodwell leaves us a midfielder short - would like us to loan a Pizarro type or bring in a Vieira type. Who's Pellegrini worked with recently who might be availablle short term?

It simply has to be credit to the manager as Garcia, Dzeko and Kolarov are this season starting to play like we had hoped. No coincidence and an absolute joy to watch and that is not bemoaning or slating Roberto Mancini's efforts previously.

I don't think you can tell a member of the anti Garcia brigade that the anti Garcia brigade doesn't exist

He did play very well today, some great tackles, got stuck in and good passing. Was still left for dead s few times due to his lack of any pace. All credit where it is due!

Probably his best home game today and I actually saw him make a tackle. Still no more than a squad player for me, but I'd be happier seeing performances like that when he does play

Again, no he wasn't check the Cardiff player coming in late to score the lampard style goal and check out Garcia blocking the passing lane to him. He looks up, sees Vinny defending the ball, zaba accross the box and takes the 3rd option. Vinny just got pantsed is all.
As for the witch hunt. It's quite simple, a number of us said he was shit, when he was shit. Those same posters almost universally sang his praises last night. It's no coincidence.
Let's face it, that tackle late on where he slid in and that chest control as he ran through putting his body on the line when their player wanted to volley from the corner are two pieces of hard noses defensive play that we've never seen from him before. Add in his competent mopping up which had also been absent and it's easy to see why this discussion would happen after this game. It's no mystery, he's been shit, but played really well last night.
