City in the Community

Just want to take a moment to thank the Club for all that they're doing over here.

Recently revamped one of the worst (but most used) fields in inner-city DC. Like so make urban fields, it was a complete shithole, and is now top quality. More importantly, they are putting on a ton of after school programs for the kids. And it's brilliant to go grab a drink in Adams Morgan (the neighborhood the field is in) and see CITY colors plastered all over the place here in DC!

As you may have seen, City are doing the same in a few places all across America:

I'd also like to put out the thought that this is part of a larger effort to promote the term 'CITY' as a recognisable brand; positive attacking football on the field, and positive compassionate community efforts off the field (see: Manchester CITY FC, New York CITY FC, Melbourne CITY FC). Great brand for sponsors to pay top $$$ to be associated with and perfect image to promote Abu Dhabi worldwide.

I'm sure in 5-6 years time we'll hear a few heart-warming stories of kids from a very poor background Miami/Chicago/DC/NY/LA who started playing on a City field after school, then eventually made it to the professional level (either in America or Europe)

Didn't mean that the story would be a kid playing for a City team. Just mean that the programs may spark a few to pursue football and eventually make a living out of it. And they will definitely help a good deal of kids find some direction in life. Never underestimate how much a little bit of individual attention can help a troubled kid. So basically agreeing with you in a round about way
