I would expect it will be done to get city fans all excited, just so is a stick other clubs fans and cunts like Michael Owen can beat us with in the weeks and months ahead.

To be fair though, on current form its hard to argue against the sentiment. A win against Barcelona will of course do nothing to harm this perception.

I have to say, I never thought I'd see the day we would be the best in the country, let alone be considered in Europe's elite.

Nervous as I get before games, as I want them to win trophies so so much,you just cannot take away the fact that the football is simply brilliant to watch.

Not wanting to be a pedantic twat but he said 'probably are the Greatest team on the planet', changed it to 'could be' when they pulled him on what he said!!!!!!

When we had that spell in the first half, I genuinely can't remember us playing as well as that before. That was title-winning form right there.

he did say going forward we were the best and he absolutely loves Kompany, lost count of the number of times he's highlighted him as key to our victory and he knows a bloody good centre half when he sees one

What with this coupled with the finance news I cannot remember a more surreal experience following City - I said to my son this morning as we watched MotD 'remember these matches as this is the best City side I have ever seen' and you know what I want to capture moments like that, but whisper it I have a feeling it's only the beginning *huge grin*

Fair enough, until we've beaten Bayern on their own patch we can hardly be considered their equals.

Ginola was creamig his pants over how good we are as well. Fair play to sherwood he said that we are a better team than them when asked about the penalty decision.
