As Beefy hasn't done this yet, I've decided it's time to make use of my new poll privileges.
A few contenders last night, but for me it was Kompany. A performance to match those from our title-winning season last night.

Merlin for me, he is just majestic in full flow and a proper nasty tackler who bites back, love him.

+1
I still find it amazing how he just drifts away from defenders.

Went for Gaƫl, but he was just one of many outstanding players last night.
I thought Kompany, Demi, Ferna, Silva, Aguero (until the injury) and Dzeko all had great games. The rest weren't poor either, but Yaya lost possession and mishit passes more than he normally does, and Zabba was struggling a bit in the first half, whereas Joe made some iffy decisions.

He did fluff some chances but most of them were pretty hard to make to be fair. More importantly, he was a great team player yesterday by holding up the ball, dragging defenders and making some sweet passes. Yesterday he reminded me of the player we bought a couple of years ago and who seemed quite smart on his debut.

For me if a striker balloons the ball 4-5 times in a game when he should hit the target at least 3 times he cant be given motm no matter how good his team play was.

Was it just my imagination or did Fernandinho have an off night? Thought he wasn't his usual vibrant self.

Had to vote for Silva on this one, though I was pleased to see Clichy join the team properly!
However will we replace Silva and Yaya? Without them we're just ordinary.

We have some amazing players coming through the academy, hopefully by the time they retire we'll have ready made replacements. But it would take an act of god for any one player to replace Yaya.

Isnt it funny how we all have such differing opinions i had fernandinho as motm i thought he closed play brilliantly and had to cover for yaya's rather erratic passing last night. Maybe its that were not used to having such a brilliant squad of players and motm isnt so clear cut anymore

I had had fuckall sleep and was hyped on caffiene, but I thought we didn't look as stable there until Demi went into the middle, and I thought he was fantastic last night. Probably wrong on that as well.

Well, I see where you're coming from but it's just his thing. He misses some and that's what he does. In combination with his role for the team, I think it can be overlooked on a game like yesterday. Negredo's similar in that he might miss some real sitters but if he has a good game, he will make the rest of the attacking players play better as well. I think that is the role Pellegrini wants Negredo and Dzeko to play and while Negredo took to those directives as a duck to water, Dzeko has taken some time but seems to finally be getting it.

Demi was very good in shoring up the midfield, hyper or not.

I don't give a shit that he misses, I like the fact he keeps trying. In days gone by his head would have slumped and he would just go missing and you'd wonder if he'd been subbed and not told anyone. Now he wants the ball all the time, and I want our strikers to be hungry for more all the time. On another night he has a hatrick and motm, just wasn't his night.

There was talk of The Goat having a word with him about body language and attitude a while back, and I am inclined to believe it happened because he looks like a different person on the pitch these days, celebrating his goals and looking like he is having fun.
