Apologies if this was posted elsewhere. Aren't any sources cited, but since I want to hear positive news after our last loss, I'll treat it as mostly true:
Fernando bound for Manchester City after agreement to sign Porto midfielder is reached
http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foot ... 07842.htmland within the article:
It emerged on Tuesday that Fernandinho may be back for City within two weeks, in time for Barcelona’s visit in the Champions League last 16 home leg on February 18.

Does beg the question of if we are going to sign him in Summer and we have a number of midfielders injured why the hell didnt we just pay up in January? It is like we are short of a bob or two

Little Ferdinand wasn't injured until the window closed. Milner is likely back in the frame now. Why pay 8m for free in the summer when we don't know how many matches he will get or how he will gel.

The article also brings up complications with 3rd party ownership (same with Mangala). Which would be understandable as the investment company would want to hold out until they could maximize their return; possibly after the WC when there will be more bidders involved.

The point made was £8m is chump change for the Sheikh. If we lose a cup or Prem due to games lost with the likes of Demicelis or Garcia in midfield getting overrun, then we will have dropped a bollock. We paid a lot for NDJ in similar circumstances. I know you cant foresee injuries but they happen. Forearmed and that. Plus he'd have had 6 months to settle in to hit ground running next season. Can understand reasons not to sign him in January. Just reckon reasons for signing him outweigh them. Thats all

I know he wouldn't fit into our system, but I miss having a hard tackling DM like De Jong. His slide tackles were a thing of beauty

Aye. Was really disappointed when he left. Fern though, has pleasantly surprised me. How Sandro,Lucas & Paulinho are ahead of him for Brazil I will never know

Sounds like we're still gonna pay for him.
Some 3rd party rights and/or Porto agreeing new terms....

With any luck we will have a fully fit squad in 3 weeks. Certainly Fernandinho/Nasri are targeting that and I expect Aguero as well.Garcia will definitely be back before then. So hopefully all guns blazing for the final push

that is good news. but I personally wouldn't rush him back before he is fully fit and risk anohter injury, not even for Chelsea or Barca-game.

We just need to get through the next few games. Unfortunately that includes Barca and Chelsea in the Cup. Hopefully the big three will all be fit for the League Cup Final.

pellers won't play miller or 5 in midfield so expect to see demi or garcia there.

Anybody think that pelligrini seems to be overstating the period a player is out for injuries?

I'd prefer that than giving false hope. Give the worse case and anything else is a bonus.

I agree but they seem to be doing it all the time now.

Probably with a release clause for the summer, otherwise he wouldn't be allowed to play for the rest of the season.
