Let's have a conversation about Liverpool

Last night's performance, coming from behind twice to then win the game, is being touted in the media as a sign of champions. Even Brenda is now saying they are challengers. They are one point behind us, scoring goals. Should we now be more worried about them than Arsenal?

We should only worry about ourselves, let the rest take care of itself.
They are contenders but like Arsenal question marks are there over their ability to handle the pressure if they do take the lead in the race.
I'm not looking forward to going to Anfield after watching our game at the Etihad, we have our work cut out.

Probably...........

They are the best side we have played, barring Chelsea, but we played Liverpool with a much stronger team than we did v Chelsea; a team which would probably have beaten Chelsea.
They are probably not a team who can set their stall out to get a point & end up with all 3, like Chelsea, but their attack is better, & now there are not as many games left, there is less likelihood Suarez etc will be missing for any decent percentage of them.
So barring injury, I would say that Liverpool are potentially just as dangerous as Chelsea apart from the fact that we have the chance to be 4 points clear of them.
That means that we are still above them if we lose at their place. We will drop points elsewhere but it's equally likely they will drop just as many, so imo, Liverpool will only be a threat if we fuck up, in which case, all 3 are a threat.

i'm more impressed with sturridge than Teeth this season.
Given how shit chelsea's front men are it amazes me how they let him go. I guess for chelsea you need to be foreign and have a huge transfer fee to play, regardless of how shit you are. I guess that is why lukaku couldn't get a game and was shipped out too.
looking at sturridges link up play and finishing, i'd much rather have him than dzeko, while he is still a greedy cunt, he is looking less greedy these days.
I'm not confident we can take all 3 points at anfield either.

A good side and with most of the top teams to play on their own ground they have to be considered contenders.
I think we gained by not playing last night, as if we hold serve over the next 5 games the game in hand in our back pocket puts us top of the pile and we will now likely be playing that with a fitter squad to select from - eg Nasri, Aguero, Ferna.
Liverpool's problem is a lack of depth and leaky back 4, but they looked the best side we have played this season, bar Bayern.

Don't discount Suarez' ability to fuck up. They will fuck up and it will be big.

Like Mourinho, he is concerned that their form may dip if they suddenly become 'expected' to win games every week & fight to be top of the league, rather than kind of being there by accident. I think they are both right too; pressure will wreck either of them if it's allowed to build.
I think he's just got carried away & forgot himself.

They are 1 point behind us at the moment. They have the easier remaining games too, have already played at the Etihad, WHL, OT, Emirates, Stamford Bridge and Goodison. The only have Rags away and then us, Spurs and Chelsea all at home.
Whereas we have to go Anfield, OT, Emirates and Goodison still.
Credit to Liverpool, it seemed they were out of the title race but they've dragged themselves back in. They may drop off, crumble and fall behind but until it's happened they must be taken seriously.
I think after 26 games we can assume no team will run away with it. We keep saying other teams will drop off but they haven't.
I'm confident we can do it but it is still atm anyone's title.
On another note this is possibly the best season ever from a neutral perspective. Potentially 3-4 title challengers right till the end. 3-4 teams fighting for 4th and any of about 9 or 10 teams could still go down.

There is no doubt all we should be concerned about is our own game and our own performances. If we get it right over the remaining games we will win the league .If we don't we won't win the league. Simple.
As for who are the biggest threat, who the hell cares. If one of them wins every game from now to the end, congratulations to them on a stunning effort.I just want us to get back to playing quick ,clever attacking football and winning games. We should think of last night's postponement as a bonus. A few players get back to fitness and we are all guns blazing again.

They do look good this season, fair dues to Rogers. They won't be overtaking us but should be considered title contenders for next season

I don't like them Dippers. I was worried they could win the league a week ago but Doug said they could nt and I'm holding him to it. Sooner have Gollum's goons win it than them.

Win all our games and we'll win everything. IMHO.
Seriously though we need to win the Arsenal and Liverpool games at least, I see Liverpool as a real threat definitely.
BTW I know we're playing rags at the end of the season as well as other teams but why have they been added to the fixture list with a TBC date?

If Reither, the clown hadn't conceded the penalty, they would have dropped 2 points against the worst side in the league and yet one penalty later, they are suddenly "title contenders"?! I think their ability to fuck up against the "easier" sides away is being under-estimated here. They raise their games against the stronger sides every time and that's what makes them look better than they really are.
Next season, they will either be in the CL or EL. Let's see how they cope up with almost 10 or so extra midweek games.

We also have a proven ability to fuck up v the 'easier' sides, as do Chelsea.

Liverpool are a good team but it doesn't really matter to us. We are far enough ahead of them (5? if we win game in hand) that if Liverpool are able to catch us we've made enough mistakes for any of the other 3 sides to overtake us too.
It doesn't matter anymore how good the other contenders are, its completely down to us now.
