Fulham have announced the hiring of Felix Magath as First Team Manager, effective immediately.

From the wiki:
As a manager, Magath quickly gained respect and became notorious for his hard, grinding training methods, laying heavy emphasis on discipline, fitness and conditioning. Players gave him nicknames like "Saddam" (Saddam Hussein) or “Quälix”, a rhyming mash of his first name Felix and the German verb “quälen” (to torture).[6] He was once described by former Eintracht Frankfurt player Bachirou Salou as the "last dictator in Europe".[7]

I can't find anything about Maulensteen being sacked either. Maybe he has been relegated to coach status?

If true, will be great for them in the long-term. Will scare off chancers trying to blag a final paycheque, while attracting players of a higher calibre than most of their previous managers.

Don't know enough about their new(ish) owners to know how much they interfere with things, but that could be a downfall in the mid-long term.

BBC reporting it too, crazy move with 12 games left. 3rd manager in one season has got to mean they will be relegated.

It means that a draw at the swamp is a bad result now.

Wtf?! I guess it makes sense since they're panicking over relegation but clubs are way too quick to fire managers.

Another like Laudrup, allow him to buy/get six players in during January, then give him the chop . He gets a draw against the scum away and were unlucky not to take 3 points off the scouser's on weds night. Very odd.

New bloke has his managerial career in Germany with some lesser profile teams except two spells at Wolfsburg. Hasn't managed anywhere for two years from what I can see? Be honest, anyone ever heard of Felix Magath before today?

They've also got curbishley as their director of football apparently?

Amazing. Right out of nowhere. Magath has had a lot of success in Germany and could be a superb appointment. Fulhams owner is either really brave with balls of steel for grabbing bull by horns in making this decision or very silly and rash. Time will tell

Don't see how owners had any other option ... Fergie's right testicle wasn't going to keep em up, that bit was sure so I guess anyone else would be fair bet at this stage, go down with him or die trying with someone else ...

He was a decent player even scored the winner in a European Cup Final for Hamburg.

Apparantly as a manager. 2005 & 2006 with Bayern. Then 2009 with Wolfsburg as well. Got pedigree

Felix is a comedy figure in Oz. He loves the laufen. Lucky for Berbatoss, he's not there any more. The players will be run ragged.

Fulham's next league game is away to West Brom ... and next to that (first home game for the new manager) is on the weekend we play the CapitalOne Cup Final ... they play Chelsea at home, 2.5 days after the rent boys will be playing in Turkey ... so c'mon Mancini and then c'mon new-manager-effect ...

Oh, and before those two, c'mon City!
