The dozen or so on the tea on the way there made more noise than the rest of them did tonight, and I was in block 118 right next to them. German teams put them to shame.

It's always so interesting to hear this from people actually at the game, on the tv it seemed like they were decent. Must be a microphone on the away fans to create an illusion of away atmosphere

They didn't fill all their seats either. Shittest fans to come to Eastlands this season.

Whilst the last point is obviously complete bollocks, they weren't exactly loud.

Some of them were even trying to get songs going with a kazoo ffs! A KAZOO! Weirdos.

We should though, I reckon, factor in that they have been in at least the semi final stages of the Chumps since 2007 (if I remember correctly from iTV). Constant success can lead to complacency, and make it harder to maintain a high level of mentalness at games. We hardly react at the same level wen we score against a lower side, compared to someone at the top of the league, say. Maybe that's how they view us. Maybe Barca awaydays consist of a lot of daytrippers. Although the louder sides we've faced have been pretty much constant throughout games, they have to choreograph it and use a drum/some fool with a loudspeaker who doesn't even watch the match.

Which is shit too.

Exactly. What constitutes good support? Having a Greek guy in yellow tracksuit bottoms hollering down a loudhaler with his back to goal telling everyone what to shout? That gets tedious pretty quickly.

Also our fans were in relatively good voice today; we're usually hopelessly drowned out in Europe & give up in the end.

Maybe half of them were day trippers but we have no major beef with them in general & I thought it was nice to be able to mingle peacefully for once.

I had some sat in front of me. And other daytrippers who where possibly neutrals. It's a joke, because I bet there were City fans who missed out on going to the game because of those turds.

If it went to general sale then nobody can say they "missed out"

Loads of tourist fans and half-half scarf wearers last night in Level 2 of the North Stand, many who you had never seen before and clearly wont again.

A guy to the left of me tapped one on the shoulder near the end and said "see you on Saturday for the Stoke game then!" sarcastically

They can because there was a load of kids and their teachers sat behind me and they were all Scottish. What the fuck is that all about?

I bought my son a half half scarf and we aren't tourists. But I take your point about most of them never being seen again.

Kids with half-half scarfs I can just about understand, but grown man in their 30s and 40s baffles me. A lot, and I mean a lot, of the tourist fans last night clearly weren't from around the Manchester area to say the least, nor were they City fans of any note but merely there for the badge of "I went to that game"

I sat in my normal seat and I didn't recognise anyone sat near me last night. I know the guy who sits next to my son got relocated along with his sons for last nights game. I was surrounded by tourists. 4 times at half time people came up to me and asked me to take a picture of them. Well annoying when you're trying to drink a brew. Wankers won't be there on Saturday.
