If true, what a set of w*****s!

Manuel Pellegrini is facing another television scheduling row with Manchester City’s FA Cup quarter-final against Wigan Athletic set to be staged just 75 hours before the Champions League trip to Barcelona.
Pellegrini, the City manager, complained earlier this month about the fifth-round tie against Chelsea being staged on Saturday evening, just three days before the Barcelona first-leg defeat.
But BT Sport is planning to announce on Thursday that it will broadcast City’s clash against Wigan at 4pm on Sunday, March 9, three days before the Barca return in the Nou Camp.

They could have chosen us as the early Saturday kick off.Why do all the other teams in the CL get help with fixtures but not us they don't want us to win fuck all and it's a joke.

Wonder if any club has point blank refused to a tv schedule.

ITV has first pick so they chose Arse v Everton ... and took the Sat early time slot for 12:45pm kick off ... (obviously after talks with both clubs) ...

Next pick is BT Sport and they are waiting for the replays on 24th and if Sheffield derby comes into play, they'll probably pick that ... else our game (repeat of last year's final should be second best for TV pick I am assuming) ...

Now BT Sport have one slot in Saturday and one on Sunday, so it's quite possible they show us on Saturday evening slot ... unless there is some local police issue with their other pick ...

Also Arsenal play Bayern away on 11th and we play Barca away on 12th so no way was Arsenal game going to be on Sun 9th ... our however could be either Sat or Sun ...

This is just paper trying to get ahead of everyone else and assuming what BT Sport will chose etc ... or they have an inside source.

if Pellegrini thinks we can overcome 2-0 at the Nou Camp then that will have to be the strongest lineup.
the "B team" should be able to beat Wigan...i know we thought the same thing last year but theyre weaker this year

Exactly. We were never going to get the Saturday early kick off slot anyway, of course that is/was given to Arse-Everton. Not to even mention that of course ITV picks that one first.

We still may get the Sat late kickoff which would still be great but is the Sunday late kickoff even so bad? Not ideal but nothing to worry about imo

To be fair Arse played Sunday at 4pm. Similar recovery time to us. Barca played Saturday night!.
Do agree though. The authorities need to step in and give clubs a chance. TV should work WITH the clubs and the FA.
Most ridiculous one is Hull and Brighton having to replay on Monday because there can't be any games on the same night as Champions League.
So if we go out I presume we can't schedule the games against Villa/Sunderland for champs league week!

If we don't go through, this is definitely why.

72 hours is ok between games, players will be recovered by then. Less than that is not enough time. Ideally though we would thr extra days rest.

As Arsenal are playing in the CL on the Tuesday night in Munich, a full 24 hours before we are, they have been given the 12.45 slot which for once makes sense.

Granted the Sat evening slot is better for us, and even the Sunday earlier slot is better but 72 hours is sufficient. To be honest Id prioritise the Wigan game over the Barca 2nd leg, as that tie is gone - the FA Cup is something we can win, the CL isn't.

Nice to see you have confidence in our players. We beat bayern in Germany and they are a better team than Barca. With Aguero back it's by no means an impossibility that we could go through. Chelsea beat them with 10 men at the nou camp in 2012. We can beat them. Have some confidence.

Just a few extra things to consider - play along with me for a minute

- We need to beat Barca by a minimum 2 goals; did we beat Bayern by 2?
- Bayern had already qualified, Barca haven't. Unlike last Dec we will have Barca's full attention and they wont sleepwalk into the game thanks exactly to what happened in Munich
- Chelsea did not "beat them" with 10 men; they drew 2-2, with the late equaliser a result of Barca having all 10 outfield players around Chelsea's 18 yard box

I have confidence in our ability to put up a better show if Aguero is fit and playing. However to think we can win 2-0, 3-1, 4-2 etc in the Camp Nou, unless Messi gets injured, is fanciful in the extreme. Yes we will give it a shot, but to think we have more than a 5% chance is being blinkered in the extreme.

That's a joke if they can do us again with another fixture so close to a champions league match.

Fanciful? It's 11 men against 11 men and anything is possible. Their defence is shit. If we get at them we will beat them.

Yup, it's 4pm on Sunday ... announced by FA and BT Sport now:

http://www.thefa.com/news/the-fa-cup/20 ... -televised

Manchester City v Wigan Athletic FA Cup tie to be televised

The rerun of last season’s FA Cup with Budweiser Final between Manchester City and Wigan Athletic will be shown live on BT Sport.

The Sixth Round clash at the Etihad will take place on Sunday 9 March with a 4pm kick-off.

But the Latics will be without their FA Cup talisman, Ben Watson, who broke his leg against Barnsley on Tuesday.

Watson scored the last minute winner at Wembley last year and also netted against Crystal Palace and Cardiff City in this season’s competition.

The tie will give Wigan boss, Uwe Rosler, a return to the blue side of Manchester where he made over 150 appearances for the then Maine Road club in the mid-Nineties.

Manchester City beat Chelsea 2-0 in the Fifth Round last Saturday thanks to goals in each half from Stevan Jovetic and Samir Nasri.

Both clubs will receive £247,500 from The FA in live broadcast fees while the winning team will get £360,000 from The FA Cup prize find.

Arsenal v Everton was announced earlier this week for ITV on Saturday 8 March at 12.45pm.

this is nothing other than a fucking disgrace, the FA should be helping its own association teams get the best possible preparation for the champions league game. We should tell them to stick the TV revenue up their arse and black out all the media, Wankers

I have to agree with Breks here Lee...

Obviously they are favourites, but there are probably about 3 or 4 teams in the world that CAN turn it around and we are one of them.

As long as there is a chance, there has to be belief.
