Lawro and Degenerate predictions week 27

Postby Wonderwall » Fri Feb 21, 2014 2:06 pm

Lawro goes for a 3-0 this week, yes he is clearly losing the plot, he has moved away from his regular 2-0 [prediction and gone for a mind boggling 3-0, I kid you not

Merson has gone for the more conservative scoreline of 2-0

Premier League Predictions:
Lawro takes on singer Katy B

Man City v Stoke

After Manchester City's Champions League defeat by Barcelona, normal service should be resumed at Etihad Stadium on Saturday. I can only see a straightforward home win, although I am wondering what mistake City defender Martin Demichelis will make next. In fairness he was not that bad against Barcelona, until the incident that led to him getting sent off and Barca getting a penalty. The problem is more that Demichelis seems to do something wrong every week, and he has got plenty more mistakes left in him. It is always interesting to see Stoke boss Mark Hughes going back to his former club, but I don't think the Potters will be able to keep Manchester City out.

Lawro's prediction: 3-0
Katy B's prediction: 2-1

City can forget about Europe

After losing 2-0 at home, Manchester City are in a hugely difficult situation ahead of the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Barcelona. City will need to try and have more of the ball, which means they will have to sacrifice a striker again and play an extra man in midfield. Do City have any chance of turning the tie around? No.

Paul Merson's Premier League Predictions
Week 27

Man City v Stoke

Man City need to win this game, but I don't think it will be a massive scoreline like we've seen from them a few times at home this season. The games are catching up on them and the loss to Barcelona will have knocked their confidence. I still think they will win the game though; Stoke are doing fine, but I expect City to do enough. It won't be 6-0 or 7-0 but I think they will recover from the disappointment of Tuesday night.

Paul predicts: 2-0

Bloody hell, what's up with Lawro! Has he actually done a little research and noticed our last 3 games against them?

Don't worry, Lawro's was just a typo, he actually said 2-0
