Remember the days when Wigan used to be seen as a bogey team? Well, that back to haunt us last year in the cup but at least we've got our heads back on this season. Wigan must be well pissed off with this seasons draws, firstly getting us in the Capital One Cup, which we now own (;-)), and now getting us again, both times at the Etihad.

Will be great to see the Legend that is Uwe stood on the sideline, he'll get a rousing welcome, but I'm hoping he doesn't do a Martinez and he walks away with just a smile in his heart rather than a Wembley return.

Don't know much about their current team but at least Watson can't score against again ;-)

Defender Matija Nastasic (knee) and striker Stevan Jovetic (hamstring) are Manchester City's only absentees for the FA Cup quarter-final with Wigan.

Sergio Aguero, who returned from injury for the Capital One Cup final win over Sunderland on Sunday, played 55 minutes for Argentina in midweek.

Wigan's top scorer Nick Powell (hamstring) is back in training but is unlikely to feature.

Winger Callum McManaman could return after recovering from an ankle problem.

Rosler's return - 20 years on

To the tune of the Pet Shop Boys anthem 'Go West', they will be singing 'Uwe, Uwe Rosler' again on Sunday, when the 45-year-old Wigan manager takes his side to Etihad Stadium.

There are some very good reasons why Rosler says it will be an "emotional moment" for him too. His return to City is not just the tale of an old favourite coming back to face his former club - it goes far deeper than that.

Manchester City face Barcelona in the Champions League three days after this match, but manager Manuel Pellegrini is adamant his side will be focused on avoiding a repeat of the result from their last meeting with the Latics in this competition - a 1-0 win for Wigan in the 2013 final.

"We are just thinking about the game against Wigan," said the Chilean. "We know it is a tough game. They are playing very well and have won their last four. When we finish on Sunday we will start thinking about Barcelona.

"We played against Wigan earlier in the Capital One Cup [a 5-0 win for City], but I think it is a different team today and it is difficult."

Wigan manager Uwe Rosler will be leading his side out against a team for whom he played more than 150 games in a four-year spell between 1994 and 1998.

Asked about his emotions when the draw was made, the German said: "My first reaction was to ban all talk about the game.

"We only started talking this week about it - I think it was important prior to that that we focused on the league.

"And now, off the back of such a good month, I have said to the boys that this is a bonus game. Not that we will take it easy, but we will go into it with no pressure whatsoever. The pressure lies on City.

"We have already achieved a wonderful cup run - it is only the third time the club have been in the sixth round in our history, and doing that after last year's win has made it even more special."

MATCH FACTS

Manchester City played Wigan in last season's FA Cup final, with the Latics running out 1-0 winners.

City have already gained a measure of revenge with a 5-0 win at Etihad Stadium in this season's Capital One Cup in September en route to winning the trophy.

All three of the FA Cup meetings between Manchester City and Wigan have ended with a 1-0 scoreline (1971, 2006 and 2013).

City have won nine and lost just one of their last 11 meetings with Wigan in all competitions.

Sergio Aguero has scored eight goals in seven FA Cup appearances for Man City.

Alvaro Negredo has netted three goals in two FA Cup starts this season.

Wigan have failed to score in their last seven visits to Etihad Stadium in all competitions.

Nine of the 14 matches Wigan have played at Manchester City in all competitions have ended with a 1-0 scoreline (seven 1-0 wins for City, two 1-0 wins for Wigan).

Ben Watson has scored in three of his last four FA Cup appearances, including the winner against Manchester City in last season's final.

Callum McManaman has played in 10 FA Cup ties away from the DW Stadium (including Wembley) and scored five goals.

Wigan have won their last five matches in all competitions and four of those have been away from home.

So guess there goes the theory that lescott was rested in the league cup final!

Not looking good for Milner is it?

great to see Richards in the squad. hopefully he can impress.

Fern is clearly being rested which is nice. Hopefully Rodders or Milner can come on for Yaya fairly early to give him a rest. also, id like to see Silva not get on the pitch.

fingers crossed Lescott doesnt get hurt...
